Academic Year 2016/17
ACE offers something different to students who find traditional classroom based learning difficult. This
could be due to a number of factors which impact on their learning; anything from not being able to conform
and follow the rules in school which results in disengagement to multiple issues in their lives which impact
on their ability to engage in schooling.
Alternative schooling at ACE offers flexibility for both schools and students, while delivering BTEC and TLM
level 1 / 2 qualifications. Students attending this provision will not only have the opportunity to undertake
GCSE equivalent qualifications and functional skills, but also be invited to participate in our Personal Social
Development (PSD) and Employability programmes, as well as some enrichment activities.
Years 9, 10 and 11 students can access this service for 1 to 4 days a week, depending on the needs of the
student and school. We are very careful to ensure the mix of student groups supports both learning and
development of the students into responsible young adults.

TLM - Smart Product Design and Manufacturing



Edexcel Functional Skills – Maths and English

Sports Leaders Awards

Gateway Qualifications, Vocational Studies. (Aimed at the younger students as part of a carousel of
activities)
