Chloe Butler - SRC LETTER FOR 2015

Vote Bianca Cameron for SRC
I am in Grade 12 and I would like to be on the SRC because I
believe that being on the SRC would give me a chance to
make some positive changes for both the school and the
students.
Some of the things I would like to focus on are getting Hellyer
more involved with projects that could benefit the
community of Burnie as well as Hellyer. Some ideas I have
include:




hold fundraisers to support the Burnie RSPCA shelter
getting a Hellyer team involved in the Million Paws Walk
fundraising for cancer; e.g., participating in Daffodil Day
coming up with ways of improving the exterior of the
school so we can use it and be proud of it (i.e.,
minimising rubbish, working with the school to find
places for people to sit outside other than on the
footpath, etc.)
 I would be a voice for the students.
 organising a really good Leaver’s Dinner!
I think I would be an asset to the SRC because:
 I am passionate about the causes I believe in.
 I have experience working with people.
 I am very enthusiastic about organising activities and
events
 I am determined to work hard on the SCR all year!
Chloe Butler - SRC LETTER FOR 2015
Hi my name is Chloe Butler and I am a year 11 student at
Hellyer College. For years now I have wanted to do something
to help people. I grew up with a hard life so I know what it is
like to not have anyone there for you. I want to be there for
people and let them know that they are not alone. I am
incredibly determined and because of that I feel I would be a
great person to be on the SRC team for 2015. I believe I am
someone who can contribute great ideas for this year and I am
willing to do anything make this happen. Thankyou for taking
the time to read this letter.
Harley Wilson
Hello friends, peers and people.
My name is Harley Wilson and I would like to be a member of
the SRC this year. I could answer the question of what I
would like to do for the school in the same way as everyone
else by saying that I’ll make a huge difference and stuff, but
I’d rather be honest and say that I’m doing this to meet more
people, have fun and to try and take on a leadership role and
maybe even make some changes.
I think being on the SRC would be a good opportunity to
meet new people and have a go at being a leader. I’ve been
told that I’m reasonably easy to approach so if I actually get
voted in to be a member feel free to talk to me or make
suggestions for socials and events and I’ll try to make your
suggestions heard. I believe that I could do a good job of
representing the students because I’m happy try listen to all
of you and even though I dislike public speaking I’m not
scared to give an opinion even if its dumb, also another perk
of me being on the SRC is everyone gets to see me get jelly
legs while speaking in public or in front of large groups of
people.
Since I’m writing this I think I should tell you all a little about
myself. Once again, hi I’m Harley and I’d have to say my
main passion is music, I’ve been in and out of bands since
grade 7 and one band “space safari” actually had a little bit of
success as in we played gigs and stuff. I’m not the most
interesting person but hey that’s life. I started in Brooklyn
Primary school (R.I.P) and then continued onto Burnie high
school, which was hard because all of my primary school pals
went to Parklands, and now I’m here at Hellyer with all you
guys.
Vote for me, I can promise that I’ll give it a good go and
make your opinions heard.
Riley Chivers
Dear attendees of Hellyer College,
My name is Riley Chivers, and in 2015 I would very much
like to represent you as a part of the SRC. In 2015 I plan to
change how people see the SRC, people will hear the SRC
being mentioned and they will feel compelled to enter into the
conversation and say “Yeah I know, they’re a wicked bunch,
and what they do for the students here, it’s just plain
awesome.”
If I am elected to the SRC, I will contribute to the college by
listening to the students, and giving them what they want. I
will organise social events for the students during recess and
lunch times, and I will give the students enjoyable alternative
options for some of their free periods. I will contribute in
fundraisers and commit to contribute to my community in my
own time.
I believe that I am capable of being a valuable member of the
SRC. I’m committed, I never give up on the people I care
about. I’m honest, you can ask anyone, I don’t go around
lying to people and I’ll tell you the truth, especially when you
need me to be honest. I’m reliable, I’ll always be there for
people, especially when they just need someone to care. I’m a
team player, I’m always willing to listen to what other people
are willing to say and take it on board.
This is why I think you should vote for me, this year Riley
Chivers for SRC 2015.

Samantha Mikic
To whom those it may concern,
Hi, my name is Samantha Mikic,
and this year I’m running for the position of an SRC member. I
believe that a school isn’t really a school unless it has the influence of
the students and being an SRC student I can project any ideas’ that
normally wouldn’t get listened to. As an SRC it’s the responsibility of
those selected students to project the voices of their peers to the
school board, the teachers and the principals. I want to be that voice
for all of our students. I’m a very good listener and I want to shape
this school so that students in both years 11 and 12 can enjoy their
time while at Hellyer. I’m very easy to get along with and I don’t
judge, and any ideas’ that you tell me will be put into consideration
so to better this school.
If I am elected as an SRC I will promise to take on any ideas’ that will
better your experience while at college. I’m a very good at thinking
things through and I’m honest in the way I won’t tell you I’m looking
into it if I’m in fact not, I’ll just tell you to maybe, if needed, to tweak
your idea so as to keep it in a reasonable time frame and cost. I have
many great ideas to better the fun part of being a college student,
such as organising a disco or maybe a sleep over at the school with
pizza and movies. I’m a very fun person to be around and I always
joke around and try to make peoples’ ideas come to life. I can also be
someone you can come to and just have a chat to if you’re finding
something hard or are just having a hard day and know that it won’t
be all around the school the next day.
I’m a very open-minded person and I’ll listen to just about any idea
you think could better this school that you know other students will
get into, and be excited about. I know, that for me, college can be
stressful sometimes with classes and being around so many new or
unfamiliar people and if I become an STC I will look into the idea of
making an area called a “Chill Out Zone” where students’ can go and
just get away from the stress of college life during a free or a break
and on that note I better head off and do into my homework. Good
luck to all other nominees and I hope that sometime in the future I
can serve the students as their voice to the world around us. 
Sincerely,
Samantha Mikic 

Dearest Ladies, gentlemen, and those not belonging to either
category, Hello.
Who is this self-promoting phantom?
This neat-freak twit asking you to vote for him.
It's good that you're looking at me, because what you see is
what you get.
While I know its my job to tell you about all the responsible
and well-informed things I'm going to do for this school, I also
know that you don't care.
So I'll put it in these terms:
If it sounds like a good idea, and people are interested. I'll do
it.
And if it at all sounds like a bad idea that no-one is keen for,
I'll pop it in the trash where our carpet belongs.
I'm Chill.
I want what's best for you all.
And if nobody told you they loved you today, remember that
I do.
Sarah Noble
Hello students of Hellyer College!
My name is Sarah Noble and I am running for the 2015 SRC.
I would like to provide you all the opportunity to get more fun and enjoyment out of your time here
at Hellyer. I plan to do this by creating more lunchtime activities and opportunities to serve the
student body and wider community.
I am Year 12 and feel like I would be an asset to the SRC this year. I am responsible, motivated, and
open to hearing any ideas you have on how to improve our school. I'd love to chat about your
thoughts on what could make Hellyer College a better place to be. I was a House Captain at
Seabrook Christian School, so I've had experience on leading students and being a good example.
I'd love to be a member of the SRC so I can serve you, the students of Hellyer College, and improve
our school. We need to make the most of our short time at college and getting involved with extra
school activities will ensure we do!
I look forward to the possibility of serving you in the future!
