LEAD VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY
Volunteer: Lancer Spirit Team Captain
DESCRIPTION
Duties include organizing teams that will attend and promote Lancer Varsity games. The Team Captain
will oversee the planning of a number of Lancer Nation related events. The Captain will liaise with
Lancer Nation executives and provide input about goals and strategies for spirit related campus efforts.
This role also requires that the Lancer Spirit Team Captain oversee the functions of Lancer Spirit Team
Members at events and booths. This position would provide the opportunity to enhance many skills
including: teamwork, communication, decision making, and time management. The Team Captain must
exhibit a high degree of campus pride and be able to act as an ambassador to facilitate this pride in
other team members. There is a time commitment of 4 hours per week in accordance with the existing
varsity and event schedules
QUALIFICATIONS
This position is best suited for an individual who is well suited to inspiring and leading others. The
volunteer must possess good planning and organizational skills and exhibit a high degree of attention to
detail. Experience facilitating projects is an asset. Ideally the individual fulfilling this role will be
optimistic, outgoing and passionate about school spirit. The volunteer must be a self starting individual
who is able to problem solve independently. This position also requires than an individual by
comfortable interacting with a variety of people. The volunteer must also demonstrate mentorship
qualities. The volunteer must be in good academic standing. In applying to this position you consent to
