Adult Basketball League Contract:
1. I will set a good example for my team by abiding by the guidelines set in place by the YMCA of Greater
Bergen County.
2. I understand that this is a recreational Adult Basketball League. I will encourage good sportsmanship by
demonstrating positive support for all players, YMCA members and staff, and officials at every game.
3. I will uphold the authority of the officials who are assigned to the games in which my team is playing, and
I will assist them in every way to conduct fair and impartial competitive contests.
4. I will cooperate with YMCA staff in enforcement of rules and regulations.
5. I will take responsibility for my own actions and the actions of my teammates including monitoring
profanity and unsportsmanlike behaviors.
6. I will support the implementation of the YMCA’s four character values of caring, honesty, respect, and
responsibility.
7. I understand that any inappropriate behavior portrayed by my team will result in player suspension. I
understand if the behavior is not eliminated, that player may be granted expulsion from the league and
the YMCA.
8. I understand there are no refunds for teams that drop out of the league or for team players that are asked
to leave the league.
Waiver & Release of Liability
In consideration of participation in the YGBC Adult Basketball League, related events and activities, the
undersigned acknowledge and agrees to:




The risk of injury from the activities involved in this program is significant, including potential for permanent
paralysis and death, and while particular rules, equipment, and personal discipline may reduce the risk, the risk of
serious injury does exist; and,
I knowingly and freely assume all such risks, both known and unknown, even if arising from the negligence of the
releases or others, and assume full responsibility for my participation; and,
I willingly agree to comply with the stated customary terms and conditions for participation. If, however, I observe
any unusual significant hazard during my presence or participation, I will remove myself from participation and bring
such to the attention of the nearest official/YMCA employee immediately; and,
I, for myself and on behalf of my heirs, assigns, personal representatives and next of kin, hereby release and hold
harmless The YMCA of Greater Bergen County, their officers, officials, agents, and/or employees, other participants,
sponsoring agencies, sponsors, advertisers, and if applicable, owners and lessors of premises used to conduct the
event (“releases”), with respect to any and all injury, disability, death, or loss or damage to person or property,
whether arising from negligence of the releases or otherwise, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
I have read the above, including the waiver and release of liability, fully understand its terms, and sign it
freely and voluntarily without inducement.
