MASTERS CHAMPION MIZE LEADS AFTER COMPETITIVE FIRST ROUND
1987 Masters Champion Larry Mize worked his way to the top of the leaderboard after Round One of the
2015 Boeing Classic. Mize collected five birdies without a bogey to shoot 67 and tied for the best round
he has shot in six appearances at TPC Snoqualmie Ridge. His first birdie came on the seventh hole
when he chipped in from about 20 feet. Mize’s 67 is tied with the 2008 edition for the highest score by the
first-round leader in the 11-year history of the Boeing Classic.
Mize holds a two-stroke lead over a group of five players at 69 (-3), featuring hometown favorite Fred
Couples as well as Billy Andrade, Carlos Franco, Jeff Freeman, and Chien Soon Lu. Four more players
sit at two under par 70: Michael Allen, Woody Austin, Lee Janzen, and Corey Pavin. They are followed by
11 players at one under par 71.
SECOND ROUND TO BEGIN SATURDAY AT 9:00 A.M.

SAFETY RULES ON ALASKA AIRLINES CANYON HOLE IN FIRST ROUND
The vast majority of the field took the safe route in playing the 14th hole, known at TPC Snoqualmie
Ridge as the Alaska Airlines Canyon Hole, as only eight players aimed at the green off the tee. Of those
eight players, nobody birdied, four made par, and the other four posted scores of bogey or worse.
