Dear partner, Hereby receive our newsletter of January 2012. We are pleased to inform you about the latest developments of Vernon Davis Ministries. Taking possession of territories “Therefore, they that were scattered abroad went everywhere preaching the word. Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria, and preached Christ unto them. And the people with one accord gave heed unto those things which Philip spake, hearing and seeing the miracles which he did. For unclean spirits, crying with loud voice, came out of many that were possessed with them: and many taken with palsies, and that were lame, were healed. And there was great joy in that city. But there was a certain man, called Simon, which beforetime in the same city used sorcery, and bewitched the people of Samaria, giving out that himself was some great one: To whom they all gave heed, from the least to the greatest, saying, This man is the great power of God. And to him they had regard, because that of long time he had bewitched them with sorceries. But when they believed Philip preaching the things concerning the kingdom of God, and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women. Then Simon himself believed also: and when he was baptized, he continued with Philip, and wondered beholding the miracles and signs which were done.” (Acts 8: 4-13) This Scripture is full of God’s power! We can see a man like Philip, driven by persecution, bringing the Gospel to the city of Samaria. A city that knew the Lord Jesus and even believed in Him as Savior Newsletter Vernon Davis Ministries - January 2012 (Joh.4:39-42), and yet was subdued under the government of the powers of darkness again. We can see how this man bewitched the people of Samaria with his sorcery and had seduced them into leaving the true faith. But here comes a Christian like Philip who takes back this whole territory for the Spirit of Jesus Christ in such a powerful way, that even a sorcerer repents and gets converted to the Living God. Hallelujah, our God is a Man of War! What a sight this must have been! A city, with streets filled with the deepest darkness and witchcraft openly practiced. Until a man like Philip appears on the scene, with the burning fire of the Holy God in his heart. He opens his mouth and with a loud voice declares the eternal Gospel of the Redeemer of heaven and earth. There must have been a tremendous war in the heavenly places, many were delivered from unclean spirits and were healed of diseases. But what a feast afterward, when the people of Samaria were no longer blinded by the god of this world and were able to see the light of the glorious Gospel! Even a sorcerer, who was so bound, deep in the claws of the old serpent, bowed down on his knees and confessed Christ Jesus as the Messiah. Wonderful! Philip, who had been faithfully serving tables under the leadership of the apostles, invading the area of Samaria, under the banner of the Cross. How much more should we as Christians in these last days be entering territories and keeping them under control of the same Holy Spirit. Of course, that is easier said than done. Philip must have led a severe warfare and felt the breath of the old dragon in his neck. He must have clearly felt that he was dealing with the enemies of God attacking him with only one purpose, to rob, to steal and to slaughter! But Philip was brave and held on in these difficult circumstances. He was determined to reconquer this territory, to invade it and make sure the Kingdom of God would be steadfast. 1 Let us also enter this year eager to fight and make use of every day to possess territories and hold on to them. Maybe our fellow students, our neighbors or colleagues will not (immediately) repent to the Living God. But one thing is certain, we are able to possess spiritual territories by pulling down strongholds over these people, everyday, and make them captives of the Holy Spirit. This is possible through a sanctified, committed and dedicated life as a Christian in His invisible Kingdom! Brethren, let this be a year of victory! Mission trips Bonaire and Trinidad & Tobago From 23 January until 17 February Vernon and a team will be in the Caribbean. Pastor Ramiro Richards of the church ‘Baranka di Restorashon’ invited Vernon again, to come and strengthen his church and other churches with the Word of God. From there they will travel to Trinidad & Tobago, where God is moving in a mighty way. Mission trips in 2012 There are many invitations to come and bring the Word of God, so we appreciate your prayers for guidance in our decisions. Not only do we want to obey God, but His timing is also important. There are invitations from the United States, Africa, Asia (Indonesia, Malaysia, India, Pakistan), the Middle East (Dubai) etc. We will probably be able to combine Dubai with Indonesia, where the cry for sound teachings is very strong. Did you know that in Indonesia Christianity is the fastest growing religion and that people are added to the church daily? Thank God for this and keep praying for the persecuted Christians in Indonesia and all over the world. The call from the Body of Christ keeps sounding worldwide for Vernon’s ministry. We will keep asking you to pray for God’s guidance and wisdom in all decisions. We will keep you informed about the coming trips. Impression of the latest mission trips Report India - December 2011 Pastors David and Dina Johnson live in the southern part of India(Chennai). Dina is Dutch, but they have chosen to serve the Lord in India. They have seven children (three biological, the others adopted), and are helping many other children. Their home is called an extended home to the homeless, but still they would love to do more, besides running their Free Tuition Center for underprivileged children in the evenings, the Free Sewing School (Tailoring) for women from a downtrodden background and the five churches they pioneered. Please read the complete report with wonderful testimonies on our website, it’s very inspiring! This is what pastor David wrote about Vernon’s visit to India: We also have a church here where Brother Vernon Davis visited from 20 until 24 of December 2011. During these days the revelation of God's word came so alive and was confirmed through MIRACLES and WONDERS. As a pastor what I feel is, that the BIBLE is in everyone's hands but it requires a revelation to bring a change in our lives and that REVELATION has become a rare commodity in the spiritual world today (Amos 8:11-12). 2 Though we have many self-styled teachers and preachers, it's so difficult to find someone who will bring God's heart to man. When this was our need and expectation God brought Vernon Davis among us and all that he taught was the exact need of our church. Though our church is small, that was our need, especially when he based all his teachings on 1 John 3:8, as it was Christmas season. It was an eye opener and a source of breakthrough in our church. Though these scriptures have been read many, many times it was brought forth with freshness and alive that at hearing these words people were healed of cancer, deaf ears opened, witchcraft people were set free and liberated completely. There was an excitement of God's word among God's people. Though our church is about two years old and many meetings were held here, this is the meeting that brought forth a breakthrough. Now we have something to hold on to and keep moving. We thank God for these meetings and having enabled Brother Vernon Davis to come. There are hundreds of RURAL ministers around this place who have no opportunity to hear such truths and sound teachings and so we are planning to invite Brother Vernon to come back in October this year to have a five-day seminar for these pastors and we request you to stand with Brother Vernon and strengthen his hands to be a blessing in the lives of these pastors and believers of this part of the world. Pastors David and Dina Johnson Report India & Indonesia – December 2011/January 2012 By Hans Yonathan (Indonesia) Again I am honored and am given the privilege to go to India for a mission trip. I believe the Holy Spirit took over the whole trip in India and Indonesia. In this trip to India and Indonesia, I have seen deliverance of witchcraft, evil spirits, spirit of infirmities and bondages and healings of tumor, cancer, back pains, injuries, etc. An amount of people in Samarinda came to the front giving up smoking. Not only that, the Word of Newsletter Vernon Davis Ministries - January 2012 God was ministered by the Holy Spirit to build up the church and the Word that is as purifying fire burning up the souls of many. I personally learned a lot in this trip, especially in our everyday life and preparation throughout the whole trip. I see how attacks and intimidations can come but how God delivers and comforts His people. Many times in our weakness, sleepless nights and trials the power of God is revealed mightily. In Indonesia, especially in Bandung, there was a breakthrough, the power of the Lord Jesus destroyed every stronghold and broke down every bondage. In the school of my brother Justin, I saw how the power of the Holy Spirit broke through the walls and strongholds and many students and teachers, who at first sat with unbelief and pride, let loose when the presence of the Holy Spirit came down. Almost the whole chapel came down for the altar call RUNNING when Pastor Vernon called for those who wanted to give their whole lives for Jesus. Many students broke down in tears when the Holy Spirit touched their hearts and many young girls gave their lives to live pure and holy lives for The Lord Jesus. Hallelujah! Unbelieving hearts were destroyed and they had to witness the power of healing of the Lord. Religious acts, hypocrisy and pride had to get out from the presence of God because the time of pouring out of the Spirit was there. I myself was astonished yet joyful and excited and burning when the Spirit moved. It is true indeed and the Lord gives more abundantly and exceedingly than we asked for because honestly, I didn’t expect that it would be this powerful. I praise the Name of the Lord. When we Christians really exalt and magnify Jesus by the Holy Spirit in everything that we do and speak without other wrong motivations, it will draw many people to Him. Glory belongs to the King of Kings alone. Hallelujah! Another thing that I learned in this mission trip is that Pastor Vernon showed me that a preacher must be able to be faithful in preaching the Word of God in and out of season. I see that there are oppositions when the Word of God is preached, even among Christians. But I really believe that we Christians, as long as many souls come to Jesus and His Name is magnified and glorified, 3 we should stop being judgmental about the way a preacher preaches, instead we should see and rejoice that many souls are being brought to Jesus Christ and how the Holy Spirit convicts people of their transgressions and disobediences to turn to God. This mission trip is really a blessing for me and my faith is being built up. Seeing how Pastor Vernon is bringing the Word of God in many places around the world, and some are countries that aren’t developed like the others, I beseech you to support him also in doing his work for our Lord Jesus. God bless you.
