Kings of India Playing Cards

Kings of India Playing Cards
A custom-illustrated deck of playing cards inspired by India’s four greatest dynasties to share the marvels and monarchs of India’s story Montreal, Canada; July 20, 2015 - Kings of India has been created to share the beauty of India’s culture with others by exploring the legacies of four extensive, prosperous and culturally innovative dynasties based on their boldest kings. Regardless of age, language or culture, these playing cards will allow you to discover some extravagant characters, surprising facts and curiosities of India’s culture; what you find inside might just spark an unexpected interest. All of the artwork behind the Kings of India playing cards has been fully illustrated from scratch; the court cards are personified by legendary monarchs and their queens from the Maurya, Gupta, Chola & Mughal dynasties of India. A well-deserved successor, who in some cases became even greater, is featured as the Jack. You will come across extravagant characters over India’s history from Ashoka the Great to the medieval RajaRaja Chola of the south and the Mughal empire’s Shah Jahan. From ancient weapons to eccentric moustaches, you can expect to find marvelous illustrated details for each court card based on actual research sourced from artifacts, sculptures and documented history. Kings of India is thoughtfully designed so that exploring history doesn't get in the way of playing your favourite game of cards. The numbers and suits are easily legible and recognizable while making sure key playing card features (like the one-eyed Jacks and the Suicide King) are well taken care of. The deck will be made with exceptional quality in the USA by the makers of the famous Bicycle® playing cards. The United States Playing Card Company [USPCC] has 125 years of expertise with a reputable history of producing decks of the best quality. Kings of India will be printed on the Bicycle® card stock and encased in a royal peacock tuck with intricate gold detail. For release on Wednesday, July 15 @ 12:00PM EST Kings of India Playing Cards will be launched exclusively on crowd-funding website Kickstarter on July 15th 2015.
