File Audit Specification Education HR can review your Single Central Record and/or personnel files to ensure they are appropriate and in line with current guidance. Schools can choose from the following levels of support: Service offered 1. Single Central Record Review 2. Single Central Record review and review of cross-section of files (preemployment checks only) Details A review of the Single Central Record to check appropriate information/columns are included HR will provide written advice on any missing/incomplete information A half day visit to school to work with the person responsible for upkeep of the SCR/preemployment checks Check/review SCR as 1. above Review cross section of teaching and support staff personnel files (normally a maximum of 10) for required evidence of appropriate preemployment checks Provide one to one advice/support on how to address missing/incomplete information. Provide written advice on any missing/incomplete information and any recommendations for future practice. Cost £75 £200 Information required This service is undertaken remotely and the school will need to provide HR with a copy of their SCR (electronically with password protection or a paper copy marked strictly confidential). Copies will be deleted/ destroyed by HR once the review is complete. Single Central Record review and review of cross-section of files (preemployment checks and contractual documentation) A visit to school (length of visit will depend on number of files to be reviewed) As no.2 for SCR and preemployment checks Review of files to ensure contractual documentation is accurate and up to date The number of files to be reviewed will be agreed in advance and will normally involve a cross section not exceeding 20 Provide one to one advice/support on how to address missing/incomplete information. Provide written advice on any missing/incomplete information and any recommendations for future practice. £300 The school will need to provide HR with a copy of their SCR (electronically with password protection or a paper copy marked strictly confidential) in advance of the school visit. Copies will be deleted / destroyed by HR once the review is complete. HR will need access to personnel files during the visit to the school. Details of current post of each employee eg contracted hours or % of fte/ paid weeks / salary point/range/band. Date of appointment /end date and reason for fixed term appointment in order to check contract details. Our advice will be based on the information in our Pre-Employment Checks Procedure, current statutory guidance and any supplementary guidance.
