Dear Parents
Happy birthday to Luke McCann, Emma McKee, Keela Holmes, Eoin McCartney, Dylan Rogers, Maura
Gough, Caolan Guinnane, Odhran Kane, Malachi McCluskey, Sienna Lawlor, Conan McCarthy, Cliodhna
Gartland, Aimee Lehane, Jodie Leigh Fryers, Jay Devine and Carragh Farmer who all celebrate their birthdays
this week.
BOOKS
Parents can you please check at home for any text books from last year, in particular current P7 children who
may still have their Basic Skills in Literacy and Numeracy from last year.
SCHOOL WEBSITE The school website www.ctrps.me has been launched. Please bear with us until we
have updated all information.
IPADS I Pads are being distributed throughout the school for children to use. An acceptable use policy will be
sent home and I would be grateful if you would read carefully with your child, sign and return to school.
JEWELLERY & UNIFORMS
Can we please remind you that pupils are not permitted to wear earrings of any kind unless they are covered by
a plaster. No other items of jewellery are permitted. Please ensure all items of your child’s uniform are clearly
labelled with his/her name.
EARRINGS
Remember due to health and safety requirements, all earrings must be covered with plasters.
PHOTOGRAPH PERMISSION
Throughout the year there will be many occasions when your child will be photographed and videoed for use
within the school, on the website, in the school prospectus and for other educational purposes. If you have any
objections to your child being photographed or videoed for any of the above reasons please contact the class
teacher.
MOBILE PHONES
P4 – P7 pupils are permitted to bring phones into school but these phones must be switched off and given to the
class teacher at the beginning of the school day and collected again at the end of the day. Phones must not be
switched on again until the child is outside the school gate. Phones will be removed from pupils who do not
follow school policy.
Golden Time
Pupils have been instructed that they are not to bring expensive mobile devices to school for golden time etc.
There are enough ipads in the school for this reward time. Golden Time toys should be small (able to fit in a
school bag) and not valuable (both in monetary and attachment value). More information will be given at the
curriculum meetings.
Cycling
Just a reminder that only bicycles can be brought to school. You can cycle to the gates and then dismount and
walk down the pathway. All helmets can be kept in the classroom for safe keeping.
Halloween Fair
This year we will be holding a Halloween Fair so we are asking all parents with contacts to help us with some
prizes for the big wheel or the ballot. If you can help us in any way it would be greatly appreciated. Please let
Mrs Brophy or Catrina or Mary know if you can donate anything.
Prayer of the Month
This month the theme is ‘We thank God’ and the prayer is ‘God Our Father I come to say thank you for your
love today’.
PARKING
We would ask parents to please use the church car-park during drop off and pick up times. The church car-park
can easily accommodate all cars and this would greatly reduce the risk of accidents.
SCHOOL FUND MONEY, BREAK MONEY & DINNER MONEY
P1 – P3 – Break Money is £1.60 per week (a healthy break will be provided by the school)
P4 – P7 – School Fund Money is £1 per child per week or £1.50 per family (children to supply their own
healthy break). This is a voluntary contribution which helps us to buy additional equipment and help reduce the
cost of school trips etc.
Healthy breaks include yogurt, bread, water, fruit or fruit juice. Cereal bars, chocolate bars, etc are not
permitted.
Primary school dinners are now £2.40 per day, £12.00 per week. ALL DINNER MONEY MUST BE PAID
ON THE DAY OR AT THE START OF THE WEEK. IF YOU ARE NOT SURE IF YOUR CHILD IS
ENTITLED TO FREE SCHOOL MEALS PLEASE CONTACT THE SCHOOL OFFICE AND CONFIRM.
All monies should be put in a clearly marked envelope.
Breakfast Club
The Breakfast Club is up and running. The cost will be £1.10 per day this year. This covers the cost of the
breakfast and the school will pay the staff costs through our extended school's budget.
