What is Video Game
Addiction?

Video game addiction is an extreme use of
computer and video games that interferes
with daily life. It’s normally when someone
starts to focus on game achievements
rather than life achievements, so you rely
on games to fulfill your desires and
complete enjoyment.
Symptoms of Video
Game Addiction
 Playing video games for more than 3
hours per sitting.
 Passing up activities that are normally
enjoyed.
 Neglecting school work to play the
game.
 Getting restless or irritable if you can’t
play the game.
 Trying unsuccessfully to limit or stop
game playing.
How Do We Become
Addicted?
 Video games in the present day have changed
dramatically and are designed to make you
want to play more.
 People become addicted when they become
fascinated with the following:
 Graphics.
 The idea of “another world” to be a new
person.
 The adrenaline rush.
 A good feeling when you are successful
The Pros
 A way to release frustrations and anger.
 Increase in imagination.
 Advance of hand-eye coordination.
The Cons
 Violence
 Neglecting responsibilities
 Pushing loved ones and friends aside for
the game.
 Games have influenced many people
that have resulted in death.
 Low self welfare (lacking sleep, food etc)
Solutions For The Addiction
 Start other activities.
 Minimum the time spent playing games.
 Set a schedule.
 Ask for advice/help from someone trusted
 Call kids helpline
