Personal Statement
Universities will not interview the majority of candidates so your personal statement
is the only chance you get to impress them.
It can not be longer than 4000 characters or 47 lines. You will need to do multiple
drafts so start as soon as possible. Your tutor can help you.
Typical layout:
Paragraph 1- Why you want to study the course (make it unique and believable).
Paragraph 2- Your academics and how they have prepared you for University.
Paragraph 3- Extra curricular activities, responsibilities within school.
Paragraph 4- Work experience and outside interests.
Paragraph 5- Your future goals and closing comment (make it memorable).
About a third of the statement should be about your academics.
All statements will be scanned for plagiarism by UCAS!
