General Rules/Guidelines A.) There will be no refunds one week prior to the league start date B.) NO SEEDS OR GUM ARE ALLOWED ON TURF C.) There will be no foul language or unsportsmanlike conduct from parents or players. If this occurs parents or players will be asked to leave the facility immediately and that player may be disqualified and dismissed from the league at the discretion of the League Director. D.) All decisions made by the league director and scorers are FINAL! E.) All players must fill out a facility waiver (can be found on website) in order to participate. F.) Parents are allowed and encouraged to watch but parents must remain off of the turf G.) There are no Alcohol or Tobacco Products allowed inside the facility 2. Age Groups: A.) Ages of all players will be determined based on their Little League Age Eligibility. (Age as of May 1st) B.) If an age group has less than 4 players the players will be moved into the next age group higher that has the required amount of players. In a case where there is no higher age group to compete the players will be moved down one age group. C.) A players age may be challenged at any point during the league. There will be a $200 non refundable fee for all challenges. In the event of a challenge the challenged player will have one week (7 days) from the point of challenge to submit a birth certificate. Failure to do so will result in a forfeit from the league. D.) Age groups will consist of the following divisions: 8u, 9u, 10u, 11u, 12u, 13u, 14u and 18u E.) A player may choose to compete up one age group if the parent elects to. 3 3. Structure of League: A.) The league will consist of 8 weeks of competition in which players will compete among other players within their age group B.) Only six weeks of league competition are needed to be eligible for final standings. (A player may choose to do all 8 weeks) C.) If a player chooses to compete in all 8 weeks, the players lowest two scores will be discarded. D.) The league will consist of four hitting stations in which each player will take 10 swings at each station and will make three rotations through each station. (See scoring section for more information) E.) Scores will be totaled at the end of each week and a players highest 6 weekly scores will determine the players final points for standings. F.) In the event of a tie, player’s most recent scores (must be in players top 6 weeks) will be compared until one player has a higher score. (I.e. Player A had 30 points week 8 and Player B had 35, Player B would win tiebreak. *Note that if a player attended 8 weeks and his last two weeks were his lowest scores, since they fall out of their top 6 scores that were counted, the first week that would be compared would be week 6) 4. League Information and Rules: A.) The stations will consist of: Soft Toss, Short Toss, Tee, Live Batting Practice a.) Soft toss- A coach will be on a knee and toss a ball in front of a player standing at home plate. b.) Short toss- A coach will be seated behind an L-Screen and will underhand baseballs to a player standing at home plate. c.) Tee- A coach will place a ball on a tee for a player and the player will hit the ball off of the tee. d.) Live batting practice- A coach will throw balls overhand from behind an LScreen to players. B.) ALL JUDGMENTS MADE BY SCORERS ARE FINAL! THERE WILL BE NO CHALLENGES ALLOWED FOR A “JUDGMENT CALL” IN SCORING! C.) A swing is constituted by a player offering to “hit” the baseball. If no contact is made and a swing is attempted it will be counted as a score of 0 points. 4 (exception during tee station- a player must make contact with ball or tee for any score to be recorded) D.) Exception to the swing rule is if a player swings and misses for his first 8 attempts at a station, no scores will be calculated on the last two pitches until contact is made. (i.e. player misses first 8 pitches during short toss, he then continues to swing until he makes contact with next two pitches, where then those two pitches will be scored accordingly. E.) Each week players must check in at table and acquire their scoring sheet, this scoring sheet MUST be turned in at the completion of the players session. (Failure to return sheet will result in a forfeit from the league) F.) Players may show up at any time during league hours however no player will be allowed to register 30 minutes prior to the completion of the session. G.) Failure to complete all four stations and three rounds at each station will result in a “0” for the remaining stations. (These cannot be made up on another night) H.) Players may show up until 30 minutes prior to the end of the session, However failure to complete all stations by the final “end” time determined will result in a score of “0” for any remaining stations. I.) Players may complete each station in any order, However a player may do one station consecutive times. (i.e. If a player does ten swings of soft toss, he must do at least one of the other three stations before coming back to that station) 5. Station Scoring/Rules: A.) Short Toss Zero points will be awarded for swinging and missing a pitch One point will be awarded for making contact with a pitch Two points will be awarded for hitting the L-Screen in the air Two points will be awarded for hard LINE DRIVES (Discretion of scorer) Three points will be awarded for hitting the back “rectangle” part of the batting cage on the ground Four points will be awarded for balls that hit the back part of the batting cage in the air (Cannot hit side or top nets first) B.) Live Batting Practice: Zero points will be awarded for swinging and missing a pitch 5 One point will be awarded for making contact with a pitch (includes ground balls other than ones that hit back part of cage) Two points will be awarded for hitting the L-Screen in the air Two points will be awarded for hard LINE DRIVES (Discretion of scorer) Three points will be awarded for hitting the back “rectangle” part of the batting cage on the ground Four points will be awarded for balls that hit the back part of the batting cage in the air (Cannot hit side or top nets first) C.)Soft Toss: Zero points will be awarded for a swing and miss One point will be awarded for Contact and balls that hit the turf before hitting a net and fly balls Two points will be awarded for line drives (balls that hit the net lower than half way before hitting the turf) Three points will be awarded for line drives that hit the back of the net in the air without hitting the ground first D.) Tee: A “redo” will be awarded for a swing and not making contact with the ball or tee. Zero points will be awarded for swinging and hitting the tee One point will be awarded for contact that results in a ball hitting the turf before a net. Two points will be awarded for balls that hit any side net or the top of the batting cage first before hitting the ground Three points will be awarded for balls that hit the back of the batting cage net in the air 6
