Canada Ski Cross – Head Coach – NextGen Team
JOB PURPOSE
Canada Ski Cross (CSX) is looking for a passionate and energetic coach to fill the role
of Head Coach for the NextGen team. This coach will be responsible for yearly and
long-term planning of the NextGen ski cross team. This position requires extensive
travel while working with one of Canada’s most successful winter sport teams.

ABOUT ALPINE CANADA ALPIN
ACA is home to three of the Canada’s fastest and most exciting snow sports: alpine
skiing, para-alpine skiing and ski-cross. Our focus is not only to produce world-class
athletes, but also to encourage participation in skiing at all levels and promote the
benefits that result from participating in sport.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
As head coach, this position will be responsible for all aspects of the NextGen team.
The goal of the NextGen program is the ensure NextGen athletes are training and
competing at a high performance level and are tracking towards success on the world
cup circuit.
The current NextGen program has 3 tiers of competition. I would be the head coaches
responsibility to manage all 3 tiers and ensure athletes are being serviced appropriately
at all 3 levels.
Primary responsibilities would include:
• • • • • • Long term planning, YTP and DTE
Planning of all training environments
Timely communication with all athletes and Alpine Canada staff
Timely expense reporting and adhering to the approved budget
All tracking of DTE, YTP and athlete monitoring systems
Performance reviews of athletes and NextGen staff
• Working with the program director to develop and manage a detailed
budget, which is aligned with the YTP
• Work with Athletic Director to provide information for funding partners
QUALIFICATIONS:
• 7+ years of head coaching experience at a FIS level
• SX experience will be considered an asset,
• Proven track record of coaching in programs with strong athletic performances
• Excellent grasp of video analysis software and experience operating timing
systems
• Clean driving record
• CSCF trained & in good standing
• Excellent skier with the ability of skiing with heavily loaded packsack
• Language skills and knowledge of European travel
