Krishi Utsho-Microfranchise Initiative CARE Bogra Field Office Deworming Campaign Background: Krishi Utsho Microfranchise initiative is an important unit of strengthening the Dairy Value Chain-II project. The unit is directly involve to ensure quality dairy inputs (Feed, Medicine, AI, Treatment etc) at the Krishi Utsho Outlets with a view to, the producers can easily be collected their required dairy inputs at a competitive price for their animals. Not only this, Krishi Utsho is also involved to increase the sales, customers as well as income of the Franchisee as KU act as Franchisor. From this point of view, KU unit arrange different promotional campaign at community level, deworming is one of them. Objectives of Deworming Campaign: To deworm the animals in the community at a time. Provide necessary supportive treatment to the animals by a registered Veterinarian. Aware the producers on livestock & farm management. Disseminate the technical information to the producers. Aware the producers about the harmful effect of parasite. Link the Franchisee with the target customers (producers). To increase the sales & customers of the Franchisee. This week the KU team of Bogra region along with the DFT team arranged a Deworming Campaign at Namakhali, Sonatala, Bogra. This campaign covered around 75 producers of Namajkhali village of Sonatala Upazila under Bogra District. Total 192 cattle covered and dewormed through this campaign. Technical person from Square Pharmaceuticals had facilitated the campaign. Producers from both SDVC & Non SDVC end received services from the campaign. Krishi Utsho is involve to ensure quality dairy inputs (Feed, Medicine, AI, Treatment etc) from the Krishi Utsho outlets with a view that the producers can easily be purchase their required dairy inputs at a competitive price for their animals. From this point of view, KU unit arrange different promotional campaign at community level, feed seminar is one of them. As a part of this initiative KU arranged 3 feed campaign during last weeks and covered about 100 milk producers around the community. So far the project carried out about 50 feed camps and covered around 3000 milk producers. This seminar helps farmers to understand the technical aspect of providing balance cattle feed to the cows. How feed can change the quality and quantity of the milk and thus their income. KU is arranging this campaign in almost every week and has the target to reach all 30000 producers of SDVC II project. Objectives of the Seminar: To aware the farmers about the importance of KU feed. Disseminate the technical information to the producers. Link the shops with the farmers (producers).
