• Your N400/N401 degree programme is made up of
compulsory and optional elements
• For those of you thinking of going into the accounting
profession, there are some option choices you should
bear in mind, depending on the accounting body from
which you may be seeking exemptions.

• It’s a good idea to think about what you may wish to take
when you are in stage 3:
– You have 60 credits of options at stage 3
– Some stage 3 choices may be governed by what you take at
stage 2
– In stage 3 you can take up to 20 credits of stage 2 modules that
you have not already taken
– Some students choose Career Development or other modules
outside the regulations

Aim: To enable students to understand what
auditing means in the context of professional
frameworks: how organisations try to seek audit
assurance and how this is reported to the relevant
stakeholders within an international context.

of assurance engagements; Gathering audit
evidence; assessing and using Internal controls; and

Aims:
• To enable students to understand how businesses develop
and implement strategic choices.
• To understand and analyse business objectives, market
position, and internal and external factors affecting strategic
choices.
– Techniques for evaluating the strategic position of a
business, including internal and external factors
– Scenario analysis, including financial data, to determine
strategic choice

Aims: To develop students who can independently
self-manage, proactively interact and ethically
apply their knowledge and skills in a work-related
context
• Can to some extent balance work across the semesters.
• Students will complete a minimum of 70 hours of direct engagement
with the organisation hosting the work-related learning spread over
at least 10 weeks.
• Three routes are available:

What do you need to do?
• You should have all received an e-mail about the S3P
system for on-line selection
• The portal opens at - 9.00am on Friday 5 May 2017 and
closes at 8.00pm on Thursday 11 May 2017 and all
choices must be made by the deadline

• You make your module choice/s using S3P
• Refer to school web site and emails for help on this
• Option choices listed in the regulations (ACC2009,
ACC2020 or NCL2007) can be made and will go into the
timetabling system

Alternative modules
• If you wish to consider a module or modules
outside the regulations, it is up to you to
investigate the possibilities:
– If you are considering an Economics, Management or Marketing
module, look at the programmes on the School website, to see
the available modules, and possibly attend module choice
sessions or meetings
• Make sure that you have met any pre-requisites
• The module must have a 2XXX or 1XXX code

• Register now for an ACC module that is part of
your regulations (ACC2020 or ACC2009)
• In Induction Week (or earlier), check the
timetable for BOTH semesters
• If the module you wish to take has NO clashes
with ACC modules then contact your DPD to ask
if the module will be approved
• Go to the Hub (5th Floor of this building) to have
the choice entered by a programme 22
