There is a scheme on earth, where people can recycle old mobile phones Even rubbish iPhone4s. Even only it’s a rubbish iPhone4? Where do I take my old phone? Does a frost giant appear? Wow, I wish I went to Hollyfield If you are lucky and go to the Hollyfield School, on January 23rd, they can be collected and given to Oxfam Oxfam will recycle the phones and use any parts they can to raise money to help those in the third world Then you’ll be as cool as me. Well, almost… So, Hollyfielders, do your bit. Bring in your old mobile phones, wipe the memory and be in with a chance of winning a huge box of chocolates for your form! One does not simply Bring one’s old phone in until one has wiped the memory completely On the 23rd of January, 8Jupiter will be coming round during morning registration to collect any old mobile phones you no longer need. The form who brings in the most phones will be given a box of chocolates to share! So what actually happens (the Science bit, if you will) • Mobile phones get a thorough going over. If they can be refurbished, they'll be repackaged and put to good re-use. • Duds are passed on to specialist recyclers. These people are environment friendly and responsible. They dismantle every part safely - including every bit from the battery - for re-use in the industry.
