to compete by jumping double clear rounds in at least four KBIS Insurance British Novice Championship

Members. Riders who have ever competed as a team member of any Senior International Team (4* or 5*
Nations Cup in the last 10 years, World, European Championships & Olympic Games) are not eligible.

Rule 312. Single Phase. Speed 325mpm. Start Height 1.10m. In the event of insufficient entries lower
prizes may be withheld. Rule - 76.6 Entry qualifications: to be ridden by Adult, Associate or Junior
Members. (a) For registered horses in Grade C that have not won a total of 375 points. Four double clears
will qualify - in accordance with rule 312.6 (b) For all registered horses that are six years or under at the
year that the final is going to be held, irrespective of points. Horses will be eligible for double clear
qualification to attend second rounds providing they reach the age of six years or under in the same
calendar year as the Senior Newcomers Final - in accordance with rule 312.6 Four double clears to qualify.
Four double clears will qualify for the Senior Newcomers Second Rounds. Qualifies for: Connolly’s RED
MILLS Senior Newcomers Second Round. Qualifying period 1st June - 31st May inclusive. Numbers to
qualify: Those horses which jump a clear round in the First Round, followed by a clear round in the jump-off,
in at least four Connolly’s RED MILLS Senior Newcomers First Round competitions in any qualifying period,
will qualify to compete in a Connolly’s RED MILLS Senior Newcomers Second Round, irrespective of their
placings for prize money in those competitions, which will be determined by the normal Table A Rules (Rule
191). To obtain a double clear qualification, even if the horse is the only clear round, it must jump a jump-of
round and jump clear to gain a double clear round. The winner of a particular Connolly’s RED MILLS Senior
Newcomers First Round competition will not automatically qualify solely as a result of that competition. If

only be eligible for double clear qualification to Second Rounds if they reach the age of seven years or
under in the same calendar year as the Foxhunter Final - in accordance with Rule 310.6. Qualifies for: The

four Senior Foxhunter First Round competitions in any qualifying period will qualify to compete in a Second

RING C. THE CARRINGTON RING

ROYAL INTERNATIONAL HORSE SHOW (“RIHS”) QUALIFYING CLASSES
Classes 15, 16, 17, 18, 19 and 21 are qualifying events for the next year (2018) RIHS and only horses registered on the
Show Hunter Register are eligible to enter. Registration numbers must be quoted on entry forms and owners and riders
must be members of the Society. Day Ticket = £30 (this entitles competitors to compete at a maximum of 1 show in the
year – it covers owner and rider membership together with horse registration for that show). If the class is a qualifying
class for RIHS, in order for the qualification to be valid, application for full owner/rider membership and horse registration
must be received in the SHB(GB) office within 14 days.
Classes 15 - 18 the two highest placed horses in each class will qualify to enter at the RIHS 2018. No horse placed lower
than second in its class will qualify. Class 21 the two highest placed smalls, the two highest placed lightweights, the two
highest placed middleweights and the two highest placed heavyweights will qualify. Entries to state name of owner and
rider, name of horse, name of sire and dam for inclusion within the catalogue. Class 24 is a qualifying event for the next
year (2018) RIHS and only the horses registered on the Show Hunter register are eligible to enter. Registration numbers
must be quoted on entry forms and owners and riders must be members of the Society. The three highest placed horses in
the class will qualify to enter at the RIHS 2018. No horse placed lower than third will qualify.
Classes 15 to 21 (excluding Class 20) are affiliated to SHB (GB) and all horses must be registered on the SHB (GB) Basic
Identity or Stud Book and the 2017 Show Hunter Register. To be judged under 2017 SHB (GB) rules. Owners and riders
have to be current members for all ridden SHB (GB) classes. (see day ticket wording above)
Hunter classes marked as Royal International Horse Show Qualifiers (RIHS) entry fees incorporate a £9.00 per entry contribution
(levy) which will be passed to the RIHS Organisers.

to be a current showing member and present their valid Qualifier card IN THE RING for signing by the

The CHAPS (UK) Championship Show will be held on 30th August-2nd September 2017. Shows held on or
after the Postal Entry closing date of Championship Show will count as 2018 qualifiers.
The following classes are CHAPS (UK) Qualifiers 26, 27, 29 and 30. For full rulings and information on

The British Spotted Pony Society (BSpPS) will provide a rosette to the top placed spotted pony in

Counties Showground on 16th July 2017. The top placed spotted pony registered with the BSpPS will
qualify, (and be presented with a rosette and qualification card). The handler/owner must be a member of
the BSpPS by the time of the July breed show in order to compete.

These classes are open to all Miniature horses regardless of registration, and owners and handlers do
not need to be members of the BMHS. The winners in each of the three Star Seeker classes together with the
highest placed un-registered horse in each of the three classes will qualify for the Championship classes at the
BMHS Breed Show 2017, provided that the owner and handler of the horse becomes a member of the BMHS
within 28 days of the show. To be eligible to compete in the three Open Star Seeker Classes, horses must
not have been placed 1st – 5th at the Horse of the Year Show or 1st – 2nd at the Royal International
Horse Show. The winners of the three sections for un-registered horses at the Breed Show, together with the
overall Champion at the Breed Show will, subject to vetting, be eligible for the BMHS Stud Book and will qualify
for the RIHS 2018 in its appropriate class. Horses will not be measured on the day but will be measured when
attending the Championship classes at the BMHS Breed show. All horses put forward for the Championship
must be under the BMHS Maxi height of 92 cms and only those conforming to BMHS Standard Height of 87 cms
are eligible for registration into the Stud Book & eligible to compete at the Royal International Horse Show 2018.

Hard hats and riding boots must be worn (Entrants should meet by the CLEAR ROUND RING at 1:30pm). All
entrants in the fancy dress must pay at the secretary’s trailer and collect a number. The class will only be held in
the Main Arena if there are six entries or more. If less than six entries forward the class will be judged in Ring G.
HEALTH AND SAFETY
The Organisers of this event have taken reasonable precautions to ensure the health
and safety of everyone present. For these measures to be effective everyone must
take reasonable precautions to avoid and prevent accidents occurring and must obey
all signs and the instructions of the Organiser, Officials and Stewards.
HORSE SECTION RULES AND CONDITIONS
1. THE JUDGE’S DECISION IS FINAL.
2. The organisers reserve the right to eliminate or refuse any entry or limit the number of entries in
any class and to cancel, merge or alter any class.
3. All horses entering the showground must have a valid equine passport with them and are
advised to be vaccinated against equine influenza.
4. Any objection or protest to be lodged with the Secretary within 30 minutes of the event in
writing, together with the sum of £100 as deposit, such amount to be forfeited if the objection is
overruled. The matter will be referred to the objection panel. Objections may not be settled on
the day.
5. All jumping classes will be run under current British Showjumping rules.
6. Horses and ponies must be over four years of age on the day of the show if taking part in ridden
classes.
7. Prize monies not collected in horse rings can be collected on Show day from the Secretaries
trailer; before 6.30pm. Prize money not collected at the Show will be deemed a donation to the
Society.
8. The organisers will not be responsible for any accident or loss of property or otherwise arising
from any cause connected with the show and it is a condition of entry that each competitor shall
hold the organisers blameless and shall indemnify them against any loss, damage or legal
proceedings.
9. Dogs are welcome, however they must be kept under control & on a short lead at all times.
Please ensure all dog waste is picked up and placed in the bins provided.
10. Stallions must have a red, white and blue ribbon and bridle disc displayed on their tail and the
owner/handler must take all precautions to help ensure the safety of fellow competitors and the
general public.
11. No lungeing
12. Any person riding a horse anywhere on the showground is to wear a hard hat of a standard
approved by their appropriate governing body and ensure the chin strap is properly adjusted
and fastened. Correct and appropriate footwear with heels must be worn.
13. The wearing of a correctly fitting body protector is advised for adults and strongly
recommended for under 16s.
14. No entry fee will be refunded in any class without the submission of a valid Doctor/Veterinary
Surgeons certificate.
15. The Committee, or officials appointed by them, shall be empowered to disqualify and demand
the removal from the showground of any animal which, in their opinion, is suffering from or
affected with, a contagious or infectious disease. All entrance fees for such animals will be
forfeited.
16. All ages to be taken from 1st January each year.
17. A Veterinary Surgeon will be available all day on the showground. If, for whatever reason, they
may be required please inform a steward and they will get the vet to you (Appointed veterinary
surgeons: MacArthur, Barstow & Gibbs – 01905 773 262).
18. In the unfortunate event of an animal dying or being destroyed on the Showground, the
owner/exhibitor is responsible for the cost of disposal and agrees to indemnify the Society in
respect of that cost.
19. All cup winners must sign for them at the secretary`s trailer before leaving the showground. All
cups must be returned six weeks before the Show.
20. If the Show is cancelled due to poor weather (where the field is considered unusable by the
committee) or any other reason outside the Society’s control, the Society will refund the entry
fee minus £2.50 to cover administration costs.
21. Failure to exhibit any animal entered will entail forfeiture of entry fees.
