For Reception & Key Stage 1 Children
Explore Music 1—Teachers: Ruth Bitelli & Sarah
Evans
Our music programme for Reception & Year 1
The children sing and play simple percussion instruments,
as well as create their own music.
9.00-9.45am or 10.45-11.30am
Explore Music 2—Teachers: Ruth Bitelli & Sarah Evans
Our music programme for Year 2
The children do all the activities above and begin to learn to
play the recorder.
9.45-10.30am or 11.30am-12.15pm
All Explore Music groups cost £47 per term.
Sing, Make Play!
For Key Stage 2 Children
A two and a half hour programme of music making including a
supervised break.
Sing! - 9.00am
The children sing songs, chants and have a lot of fun as part of
a musical warm up.
Make! - 9.30am
The children make up their own music using their instruments
and classroom instruments such as xylophones,
boomwhackers etc. They compose, improvise and study the
theory of music through practical application.
Play! - 10.15am
The children play in ensembles, sometimes using notation.
Musical Options - 11.00am
Options include: Recorders, Music Technology and Ukulele.
Sing, Make, Play costs £60 per term
Staff: Michelle Spain, Elisheba Stephens, Euan Tees,

For those who would like to stay longer!
Various instrumental clubs are available for beginners
who would like to learn in a group environment. These
can include Keyboard, Cello, Bassoon, Clarinet, Violin,
Double Bass, Brass.
Maximum group sizes are 4 and an instrument will be
provided for your child.
11.30am-12.00pm
All instruments £60 per term.
(Keyboard Club has group sizes of 6 and costs £40 per
term).

All children are entitled to a term’s free membership
with Capel Strings, Watford Junior Singers, Brass
Attack or Junior Wind Band, when they are ready.
