Trustees and managers control them. y Some time they are used target b groups, other times they are floated in the property markets. These properties deserve to be taken care of by all those who in some way aredealing with them or they are kind-hearted wishing to help others. Strategic planners of sustainable development have f recognised the value of waq properties. Hence after 200 years of neglect, recent local and international organisations including UN agencies and Muslim governments have taken keen interest in the development of waqf institutions to make them achieve their maximum potentials. Waqf institutions are now motivated and kind-hearted individuals are dedicating to contribute to the development and enhancement of these properties. Offering this short seminar is one of the efforts for the above purpose. It will introduce the participants to a new approach to the special characteristics of waqf properties, suggest the appropriate methods of management for waqf properties so that their value is enhanced and put to the best use. Attention will be paid to income generating properties for the purpose of floating them in the open mark et in order to maximise their income. The seminar is highly recommended for administrators of wakaf properties, property managers interested in waqf property management, student’s intent on specialisation and anyone who have interest in waqf properties for the purpose of use and enjoyment or donating their properties for causes they intend to contribute. Prof. Dr. Mohammad Tahir Sabit Haji Mohammad is graduated from International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) trained in Shariah and Common laws. He is attached to the Department of Real Estate, Faculty of Geoinformation and Real Estate, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. He is advance researcher of Waqf properties and has completed more than five research projects on waqf ma tters. He has participated in the National Strategic Plan for transformation of waqf properties in Malaysia. He has written various papers and articles on the subject and co-authored a book on the waqf properties published by UTM Press in 2014. SR. DR. FAUZIAH BINTI RAJI Has served as a Valuation Officer at Jabatan Penilaian Pengurusan Harta for 13 years, before joining academia in 1997. She holds Ph.D and a Bachelor Degree from UTM in Real Estate with expertise in Property Management of "Public - Private Partnership". She also holds a M.Sc. (Urban Land Appraisal) from the University of Reading, UK. An efficient and also reliable lecturer, who is confident with extensive industry experience in are of Property Valuation, Property Market and Property Privatization.
