FAIRBANKS-OPOLY IS COMING!
Northern Lights Academy invites you to help us create a board game reflecting the Fairbanks of the early 21st
century. 500+ games will be produced and sold in Fairbanks beginning May 4, 2014, just in time for our busy
tourist season! This is your opportunity to have your business included on our game board and be recorded
for posterity. There are a variety of ways to be included and they are listed and detailed below.
There are 28 property spaces on the game board. These 28 spaces will be sold to the highest bidder. The
bidding process is explained later in this letter. Fairbanks-opoly has the components of traditional board
games coupled with the history, culture and local flavor of Fairbanks. Don’t miss your opportunity to have
your business recorded for future generations!
BIDDING: All properties have a starting bid. Bidding will open January 18, 9 a.m. and will close on
Friday, February 28, 2014 at 6 p.m. All payments must be finalized by March 7, 2014. All bids must be presented
in written form: email, fax or USPS. Bidders will be notified if they have been overbid thus providing them the
opportunity to submit a higher bid for the desired property. If the designated winner of a specific property is
unable to purchase that property, the property will be offered to the second highest bid received. Bids can be
OR
paid for via cash, check or credit card*.

Please review the attached board map for specific locations and starting bids. Your
business name and logo will be proudly displayed on the square should you be
the highest bidder.
Custom Money - There are 7 denominations of money used in the game.
Businesses may bid for the opportunity to have their name and logo on one
or more of the denominations.
As with the property cards, there is a starting bid/denomination and the
rules and timeline for bidding outlined above apply.
Pewter game playing pieces - There are 6 pewter game playing pieces.
You can bid to sponsor a game piece and have displayed on the board
your name/business listing. The pieces are in the shapes of: totem
pole, gold nugget, hockey stick, sternwheeler boat, mukluk, and a
train engine.
OTHER WAYS TO PARTICIPATE IN FAIRBANKS-OPOLY:
Houses/Hotels - You can also have the honor of sponsoring the traditional green houses and red hotels. Your
name will appear on the game board as a sponsor.
Sourdoughs, Pioneers and Patrons - There is room on the game board to list the names of individuals
and/or businesses who qualify as an Alaskan Sourdough or Pioneer or those who simply wish to be included
in this remarkable venture. This opportunity is $100/entry.
