Billing information for mixed use customers

Billing information for
mixed use customers
If you use water from the public main for business and for household purposes, for
example if you operate a business or farm on the same premises as your home, then
you are considered to be a ‘mixed-use’ customer for water charges.
Mixed-use customers receive a non-domestic water services bill from their Local
Authority and a domestic bill from Irish Water for the same premises.

Many mixed use customers have both the domestic and non-domestic water
supplied from a single metered connection. It is often not possible or practical
to install a second meter to measure domestic usage. This is why your
domestic usage is assessed.
Non-domestic charges will apply to the water you use over and above the
domestic allowance previously set by your local authority.
