Surrounded by scenic hills and woodlands, it is one of the UK’s finest education & adventure centres. Pupils arrive at school as normal in own clothes (not uniform) Bags are placed in the Dance Studio in Tutor Group Order Say your goodbyes at home as we don’t leave for Colomendy until 10.30am All bags will be put on the coaches. Bags will be reclaimed at Colomendy and placed in Sports Hall Packed Lunches need to be separate and stay with pupils Medication Mrs Robertson will look after the Girls medication Mr Higham will look after the Boys medication Medication will be given out at breakfast, dinner and before bed or in Reception at specified times Sleeping Accommodation Boys and girls sleep in bunk beds in separate rooms in warm, comfortable, newly refurbished dormitories of between 2 and 10 beds. Sheets, duvets and pillows are provided. Some rooms are en-suite but there are always separate toilet and shower facilities for girls and boys close to dormitories. Pupils must make their own beds! What to wear? Clothes that can get dirty! Old Clothes A clean set of clothes for each day that will get dirty and wet Do not bring expensive/valuable clothes or shoes for activities Pupils will need a waterproof top or coat in case it rains Other Items Long sleeve shirts/jumpers – for rope activities An old/cheap watch for time keeping An alarm clock to help you wake up and get ready Pyjamas to sleep in Towel for showering (despite the reluctance) Flip Flops for shower areas as they can get slippy Disco Night Nice clothes for a School function Appropriate clothes and footwear Colomendy 2017 Kit List There are three days of practical activities of which there is a likelihood that you may get muddy or wet. You will need three different outfits for activities that you do not mind getting muddy (one for each day). You must wear long sleeves due to the ropes used in the activities. Typical outfits would be track suit or jeans and jumper/hoodie. You will need old trainers or walking boots for activities. You will need a water proof jacket/coat in case of rain. 6 pairs of socks – (2 per day and thicker socks for activities to keep feet warm and dry). You can also bring Hat & Gloves if you want to keep extra warm. You will also need a cheap watch and an alarm clock to make sure you are always on time. Remember, your phone will not work at Colomendy because there is no reception. You will need pyjamas to sleep in and some flip flops to wear in the shower areas. You will need some nice, appropriate clothes for School Disco on the last evening. The photographs are from previous Colomendy visits to use as a guide for your kit. If it’s sunny, you may need suncream Colomendy Centre does have a shop where children can buy small toys, limited refreshments, souvenirs etc. We recommend bringing £10 in £1 coins. However, they may return without spending their money.
