BURNABY CENTRAL RUGBY
Reminders:
 All players need to hand in a registration form and pay their team fees
 Bring all equipment to practice and games
-mouth gaurds are mandatory
-boots (extra cleats?),game jersey, black shorts, and black socks
 On game days, early dismissal will be in the staff bulletin
-for away games, dismissal at 2:15 PM (unless noted below)
*Parents are needed as drivers. Please let Mr.V know if you can drive
via email/note. Be at Away Field by 3:15 PM (ie. April 20, 26, May 2, 11, 15)
-for home games, dismissal at 2:30, be on field by 3:15 PM
*Practices on Central’s Grass Field start at 3:15. If you can not attend speak to your coach in person.

WHAT MAKES A GOOD RUGBY PLAYER?
A good player is on time for practice and games.
A good player takes time to work on skills and areas that need help at the start of
practice.
A good player lets the coach know in good time and in person if they cannot
play/practice.
A good player is fully prepared to play/practice (i.e) water bottle, mouth guard, rugby
boots, and jersey.
A good player does not question the referee’s decision. He will never change his mind.
A good player thanks the referee at the end of the game.
A good player loves to win and does so with class.
A good player hates to lose but does so with class.
A good player thanks his opposite number at the end of the game.
A good player has a positive attitude and encourages his teammates.
A good player makes others around him better players.
A good player balances his sport with his studies. You are STUDENT-Athletes.
A good player prepares and takes care of his body. Rugby is a contact sport;
strengthen your body and take care of any injuries.

Colour= Drive (Jumper,thrower rips)
70 = first player in lineout
71/72 = 2nd player in linout (first jumper) 1= straight up 2= delay
73 = 2nd Jumper (straight up)
77 = back of lineout
Short Lineout = 5 man ( Bst Jmp Bst Tail) 70, 71, 72, 73 (with tail boost)
Scrum: Country= #8 pick (89 = #8 pass to #9) Kill Play = 8 pick, dummy, 10/15 blind
Penalty:
1= To scrum (option A=straight, B= Fake 1st pod, pass to 2nd pod, C= wide or blind)
2= To Backs
Kick for Touch (out of bounds)
Kick for Goal (worth 3 points)
