IOT Demo cum Workshop
A Demo cum workshop on ‘IOT and its Applications ‘ was conducted
jointly by the Education Society and WIE Affinity group of IEEE Pune
Section on 22, July 2016 for final year Engineering Course.
Demonstrations included remote control of motors / LED lights,
automatic dispatch of e-mails in case of emergency, using Python
/ Javascript with Arduino and Beaglebone circuit boards.

A Demo cum workshop on ‘IOT and its Applications ‘ was conducted
jointly by the Education Society and WIE Affinity group of IEEE Pune
Section on 22, July 2016 for final year Engineering Course.

The event was held at JSPM College of Engineering, Pune and attended by
157 participants.
The workshop enabled the students to get a first-hand feel of the
applications area and the vast potential of the subject.

A major Task taken up by the Society
during July- August 2016 was
to
conduct
Technology Dissemination Contest
for Students (TDCS)
TDCS
TDCS was a National level event where
more than 350 students (96 groups)
participated from all parts of the
country.
Main objective was to use Engineering
students to disseminate information
about
emerging
technologies
among Rural and Urban high
School children and to create
interest in them.

 Prize Distribution Function was held on August, 27, 2016
 Ms. Prameela Kalive, Executive Vice President of Zensar
Technologies presided over the function and gave away the prizes.

‘Computing with fun’ Workshop at Agastya Science Center, Bangaluru
A Demonstration workshop on ‘Computing with Fun’ was conducted on
21, November, 2016 at Agastya Science Centre, Bengaluru ; This
was followed by a Workshop cum Discussion on ‘Cultivating Curiosity
in Children through fun and games’– The program was sponsored
by Agastya International Foundation

A Demonstration workshop on ‘Computing with Fun’ was conducted on
21, November, 2016 at Agastya Science Centre, Bengaluru ; This
was followed by a Workshop cum Discussion on ‘Cultivating Curiosity
in Children through fun and games’– The program was sponsored
by Agastya International Foundation
The program was attended by 30 school children of Standard VI and VII
and also about 20 teachers/ educationalists from Bengaluru,
Kuppam and Mysuru attended
Major objective of the program was centered on cultivating curiosity in
children and involved games based on Mazes and puzzles

‘Computing with fun’ Workshop at Cygnet School, Pune
A workshop on “Computing with Fun” was conducted on 29, November,
2016 for Students of Std IX of Cygnet Public School & Jr.
College, Hadapsar. Pune.
The workshop was based on a theme named “From Shivneri to Silicon
Valley” and involved games, stories and fun activities; Students
learnt about measurement of length/ areas of regular and irregular
figures through fun games and Google Maps.

A workshop on “Computing with Fun” was conducted on 29, November,
2016 for Students of Std IX of Cygnet Public School & Jr.
College, Hadapsar. Pune.
The workshop was based on a theme named “From Shivneri to Silicon
Valley” and involved games, stories and fun activities; Students
learnt about measurement of length/ areas of regular and irregular
figures through fun games and Google Maps.
They also learnt the underlying concept of navigating an autonomous
car; all this was done using the media of participative games.
All participants were immensely happy with the workshop and desired
to have more of such workshops.
