• Based on consultation with S4-6 pupils and staff.
• We are asking you and your parents for feedback before
final document is published.
Choosing to return to S6 at Kinlochleven High School is
what makes you unique. By returning, S6 pupils are
agreeing to:-
• Display excellence attendance, punctuality to
school and class, and a commitment to work and
to achieving your best
• Respecting and upholding all of the schools
policies
• Promoting positive behaviour within the school
• Wearing full school uniform
• Represent the school in the community
• Respecting the S6 Common Room
• Co-operating with all staff
All pupils returning to S6 at
Kinlochleven High School are expected
to be role models
There will be 14 leadership roles available for S6 pupils, which are described
below. Pupils wishing to take a leadership role will need to apply by completing
an application form, which will also require a staff referee.
• Closing date for applications 5th June 2015
• 10 minute Interviews will take place week beginning 8th June 2015
• Successful candidates will be notified by Friday 12th June 2015

School Captains
The School Captains should play an active role in creating a positive ethos in the school and
are expected to undertake a number of duties. These include:• Leading the House Captains in their duties
• Promoting positive behaviour in the school, which will include duties on one day of the
week but will be negotiated with SMT to be relevant and useful
• Promoting the school and its identity e.g contributing to media articles, plasma screen
updates and the Wall of Achievement board
• Taking part in evening activities, including involvement with parents
• Taking part in and contributing to the work of the School Fund and the PTFF
• Develop leaderships skills by attending Abernethy Trust
• Taking part in end of term assemblies, presentations and school services
• Any other duties as directed by SMT

House Captains
The House Captains should play an active role in creating a positive ethos in the school and
are expected to undertake a number of duties. These include:• Lead the prefects in their house.
• Promoting positive behaviour in the school, which will include duties on one day of the
week but will be negotiated with SMT to be relevant and useful
• Deputising for School Captains as required
• Promoting their house and its identity, including House Noticeboards
• Contribute to and support house activities
• Participate in pupil council, democratically representing the views of the pupils within
their house.

Events Prefect
• By working with staff and pupils, develop, manage and deliver a varied
portfolio of event fundraising activities
• To take responsibility for the creative, technical and marketing elements of
events
• Work with staff with regards financial elements of events
• Develop leaderships skills by attending Abernethy Trust

Pupil Support Prefects
• To help pupils in your house develop and manage a particular project (e.g. an
Eco-Schools project) and see it to completion.
• To be a point of contact for pupils in your house, be that handling a question,
an issue or a problem, and running a weekly drop in
• To keep pupils and SMT/Guidance updated with timely information and
progress about a particular project or issue
• Develop leaderships skills by attending Abernethy Trust

Sports Prefect
• To be a point of contact for pupils in your house in terms of inter-house
sporting competitions
• To work with other sports prefects to develop a range of lunchtime and
after-school activities that encourage health and wellbeing
• To work with PE staff and Active Schools Co-ordinators to facilitate coaching
of various sports
• Develop leaderships skills by attending Abernethy Trust

Non-leadership roles
All S6 pupils are expected to contribute positively to the school and its work.
Therefore, those pupils who do not have a leadership role will be asked to choose
a department or a member of staff where they will contribute to 2 periods of
support, as negotiated.
