Цель: формирование коммуникативной компетенции учащихся в рамках обозначенной темы
Прогнозируемый результат: предполагается, что к окончанию урока учащиеся будут готовы высказаться по заданной
теме
Задачи:
 учить школьников полноценно пользоваться английским языком во всех видах речевой деятельности в разных
сферах его применения;
 способствовать овладению учащимися основными способами мыслительной деятельности (сравнение, анализ,
обобщение);
 создать условия для активного взаимодействия, развития аналитического и критического мышления
Задачи для учащихся:
 учиться высказывать свою точку зрения на английском языке;
 учиться применять полученные знания на практике;
 учиться работать в команде
Методы: коммуникативный, интерактивный, проблемный, игровой

Focus on the meaning of the words and phrases. Encourage cooperation, let the students who know the vocabulary explain it to
those who don’t know. Ask them to group the list above into 5 columns (worksheet #1).

2. Divide the class into 2 groups. Show the students the picture sheets. Explain that Mr X and Mrs Y are a success in their
professions. Let the first group think of Mr X’s profession and allow 5 minutes to describe his background, interests,
priorities, skills and personal characteristics. Encourage imaginative response. Let them write it on the picture sheet. The
students of the second group do the same with Mrs Y.

After the groups are ready they exchange the picture sheets. Give them some minutes to analyze, discuss in groups and
guess the professions. Ask them to explain the answers. Encourage if they have several answers and give extra ideas – the
idea of the exercise is not only to practice the vocabulary but also to enjoy speaking to each other and to the teacher.
3. Ask the students to think of their future career. Allow them 4-5 minutes to make their own lists. Encourage the students to
use the vocabulary of the lesson. Circulate and help if necessary. Ask them to exchange the lists with their partners and
guess what his or her future career might be.
4. Round up. Ask the students to play the game “Associations”. The students are to say which words and expressions from
worksheet #2 they associate with their future career. You can divide the class into groups or pairs to allow them more time
to express themselves.
5. Homework.
