Have Fun Playing Golf In Greenwich
Play golf at the only non-private golf course in Greenwich, the Town of Greenwich owned
championship golf course named Griffith E. Harris Golf Course located at 1323 King Street. It is
an award winning 18 hole Robert Trent Jones designed course built in 1964. The course,
referred to as “The Griff”, is recognized as one of the premier golf courses in the area. It has
been selected to host the 2018 Metropolitan Golf Association Public Links Championship which
is quite an honor. Also, in the not so distant past, it has hosted an official PGA professional
event. In an article it did about the course, Greenwich Magazine referred to it as Greenwich’s
“hidden gem”.
While the course is of championship caliber, each hole has four sets of tees to
accommodate golfers of all abilities. Practice areas include a driving range, putting green and
chipping area with a sand trap. Also on the premises is a full service restaurant and a Pro Shop
with a resident Pro and assistants that are available for lessons along with a full range of golfing
supplies and clothing. Further, there are four very active men’s and lady’s golf clubs that play
every week during the season at the course and welcome new members. For additional
information about The Griff go to our web site at www.thegriffgolf.org and learn more about it
and all it has to offer.
If you or someone living in your household would like to experience friendly country club
atmosphere without the high cost, become a new member (current members receive a renewal
form in the mail). Please fill out the New Member application on the back of this page and mail
it to the course as directed on the application. Then, at your convenience, please come to the
course for your photo ID membership card and household number which will allow you to make
tee times.
We look forward to seeing you and making your experience here at The Griff a truly
enjoyable one.
