Chorley Council is proposing to renovate and improve Coronation Recreation Ground to upgrade
the quality of your public park. We would welcome your opinion and ideas about the detailed design
of the site to help us make the correct choices and to ensure the budget is spent in the best way
possible.
BACKGROUND
Community consultation has been carried out over the past few years to engage with site users and find out
what facilities are required and what improvements would be most popular. It has taken some time to
secure enough funding to turn aspirations into a reality and now we have sufficient budget to deliver the
majority of the top priorities chosen by park users. Further funding will be sought to deliver the whole
masterplan and other priorities as they arise.
PRIORITIES
In order of importance the public have told us that they would like the following:·
Improved toilets
·
Provision of a cafe/kiosk
·
A multi-use games court for playing football and other sports all year round
·
Refurbishment of the single tennis court
·
Improved play and exercise facilities
To improve the design of the site to mitigate against and reduce antisocial behaviour.
CONSULTATION
The master plan on the following page shows the proposed changes to the recreation ground. You are
invited to have your say by filling in the survey. Larger copies of the masterplan are available to view in the
notice boards on site or at Civic Offices, Union Street, Chorley, PR7 1AL.
