2013 MENS ICEBREAKER RULES

T O U R N A M E N T S
Where a Team is placed in Playoffs will be determined by Friday & Saturday’s Round Robin Play. Seeding
will be determined by the +/- factor – procedures shall be as follows:
SEEDING & TIE-BREAKERS WILL BE DETERMINED IN THE FOLLOWING ORDER:
1. Total Points:
Win = 2 points Tie= 1point Loss = 0 point
During Round Robin Play, ties will stand. Playoffs, goes to International
Tie Break rule
2. Head to Head Competition
3. Run Differential: A maximum plus-minus run difference, per game, per team is plus
seven runs or minus seven runs. In the case of a Forfeit = 7-0 score
4. Least Runs Allowed
5. Most Runs Scored
Softball City and SLO-PITCH NATIONAL [SPN] rules apply unless otherwise referred to BELOW:
1) ALL UMPIRE DECISIONS ARE FINAL: This is a no protest Tournament
2) TEAM ROSTERS & TOURNAMENT PAYMENT: roster forms and tournament payments must be
submitted to the Proshop attendant prior to the team’s second game.
3) HOME PLATE MEETINGS: Line-up cards are to be submitted to the umpire before the start of the game,
first and last names with Numbers & positions must be listed.
 Whether a Team is Home or Away, will be determined by Coin Flip prior to each [RR] game
 For Playoffs the top seeded team will have choice of Home or Away
 Home team will not be allowed to bat in the last inning if they are ahead
4) TIME LIMIT: No new inning to start after 70 minutes - or less if rainouts occur
5) SCORING RUNS: Maximum 5 runs per inning 1-5. Innings 6 & 7 are open if reached.
6) MERCY RULE: There is a 12 run mercy rule after 5 innings
7) TIES STAND IN ROUND ROBIN. No ties in playoffs but time limit in effect until finals
 For Playoff Games: international tie breaker rule in effect
8) COURTESY RUNNERS: Maximum 3 courtesy runners per game, any base. Each player may only run
once.
9) BAT RULES: SPN Bat rules. USSSA Bats marked with the new USSSA stamp on the taper of the bat will be
allowed. We also allow the 2000, 2004, ASA & ISF stamps as well. We will continue to use the Non-Approved
ASA bat list as per the SPN bat policy. Please see sheet for non-approved bats (available in the Pro-shop)
10) No Bunting.
11) BATTING ORDER/LINE-UP: A team may start a game with 9 players & finish with 9 players with no autoout. If a Team would like to add a 10th player (who is running late) they may elect to have an auto out until
this player shows up. This decision must be made prior to the game at the Home Plate meeting
12) BAT RULES: ASA bat rules in effect, please see the proshop for list of non-approved bats.
13) PROGRESSIVE HOMERUN RULE: A team may hit a maximum 2 over the fence home runs more than
their opponent, at any time during the game.
13) No sliding at home, touching home plate, crossing over home plate or running in front of home plate
allowed. Runners must step on or over scoring line and foot must be on the ground before catcher catches
ball or tags runner. No live plate.
13) ALL PLAYERS MUST BE LISTED ON THE ROSTER AND HANDED IN ON SATURDAY.
