Niagara Region Wind Project Request for Use of the Blue Heron Trail Haldimand County Council Session July 6, 2015 In-line Plough w/ offset In-line Spools Confirmation of what works will be completed • In-line plough would offset onto south side of path, if desired. • Tractor with three spools follows directly behind plough and buries cables. • Material is placed back into trench and compacted • Rehabilitation of area is completed Revised Proposal • Subject to Board FWRN LP approval • $100,000 one time donation to Haldimand County for use at your discretion. Will pay at financial close. • $125,000 one time donation to Haldimand County 2 years from execution of agreement • $175,000 one time donation to Haldimand County 4 years from execution of agreement • Conduct work during low use season • Commitment to rehabilitate once construction activities are complete. Summary • Building a short road (~100m) and burying cable (~1000m) within existing retired rail bed. • Construction timing windows will be limited and organized with the county – will also work with contractor to minimize tree trimming for use of buried cable. • Work will likely impact about 12 mature trees with regards to the road construction • Commitment to re-vegetate and provide LC as insurance. • Niagara Wind requests from the Council to direct staff to negotiate an easement agreement for the use of the Blue Heron trail.
