‘10th BDTA Women’s Throwball Champions Cup -2017’
The Bengalooru District Throw Ball Association (BDTA) has successfully completed 9 years. We
have conducted various tournaments and championships with zeal. As we step into the tenth year we
have decided to conduct the Women’s Throwball championship with the name ‘10th BDTA Women’s
Throwball Champions Cup - 2017’. The association is planning to organize and conduct the
championship in a grand manner. To make this event, a great success, we need your support and cooperation.
In this regard, we are here by inviting your throwball team to the ‘10th BDTA Women’s Throwball
Champion’s Cup-2017’. This mega event will be held on 4th and 11th June 2017 at Kairalee Nilayam
Institutions, Behind HAL Sports Club, HAL, Bangalore, Karnataka. Last date for confirming your
entries will be 20th May 2017.
Note:
 3 cup format will be followed if 12 teams register, 2 cup format for less than 12
 For Champions Cup: The trophy, medals and a cash prize of

Rs. 15,000 will be awarded to the Winners,

Rs. 10,000 to Runners up team,

Rs. 6,000 to third place team

Rs 4,000 to fourth place team.
 Best player awards will be given for all the matches
 BDTA player of the tournament will be awarded
 League match pool winners will be playing for the Champion’s cup 2017
 League match pool runners will be playing for Chairman’s cup 2017
 League match third position will be playing for Challenger’s cup 2017
 Chairman’s cup and Challenger’s cup winners and runners will be awarded with medals and
trophies.
Note: If necessary, flood light matches will also be conducted.
Recognition: Player of the year award will be rewarded

TOURNAMENT RULES




















The tournament matches will be played on ‘league-cum-knock out basis’.
All the matches will be played according to TFI Rules.
Number of players in the team: 7+5=12 (INCLUDING 3 GUEST PLAYERS)
In the league stage top four teams will be selected to play for the knock out
matches.
All the teams should play with their Own-Team-colours either t-shirt and
shorts or t-shirt and track pant with numbers from 1-12 on the front and
back.
All the matches will be played with the ‘Official-Throwball’ Only.
All the league and Champion’s cup matches will be played for 25 points each.
One Bonus point per set will be awarded to teams scoring 15 points earlier
than the other.
Chairman’s cup and Challenger’s cup will be played for best of 3 sets, 15
points each.
The decision of the Referee’s is final. No protest will be entertained.
The teams should submit their ‘list of players’ along with the guest players
within a week of the selection trials of the guest players along with the t-shirt
sizes and logo.
The teams should produce the Identification Cards (Issued by the Company)
of all the players on 29th April 2017.
The teams should report at the venue, 15 minutes before the scheduled time
of their matches, if not a ‘walk-over’ will be given to the opponent at the
scheduled time.
Only one coach & manager of the concerned company playing will be allowed
to sit along with the substitute players in the team-bench.
In case of rain or any other unavoidable circumstances, the organizer shall
have the right to reschedule the matches.
The organizing committee is not responsible for the losses of the personal
belongings of the players.
First aid will be provided at the ground.
In case of major injury/illness, the respective team/the company should take
up the responsibility.
Transport: Own arrangements to be made.
Refreshments: Snacks and Lunch will be provided.
Accommodation: Teams from cities other than Bangalore, please let us know
if you need any assistance with accommodation. It's not complementary. We
will only be able to help you with finding a suitable place
 Guest players (max 3 guest players):
 3 guest players can be selected for each team but only 2 players will be
playing in the court.

A guest player is a player who plays for a particular team but not the
permanent member of the team.
 They should wear the separate uniform provided by the association.
 The Selection of guest players:
1. One guest player can be pre-decided/ selected by the team/captain;
2. 2 guest players will have to be selected during the selection trials held for
the selection of the guest players on 16th April (arranged by BDTA), at
Maharani’s Art and Commerce College Stadium, Opp Freedom Park,
Bangalore.
o The guest player’s pool will be created.
o Guest Players will be given a number and the Team Captains will pick
the players based on the lucky dip.
o Profiles of the pre-decided guest player to be submitted by the team
who have selected them on the day of selection.
o The guest player’s involvement / presence during the practice
sessions/ matches/ tournaments should be taken care by the team for
which they are playing.
o Association will provide only first aid services and will not be
responsible for any major injuries and treatments.
 The association will arrange a platform for the selection of the guest
players on 16th of Ma and the venue will be informed later
 During the guest player selection, the team captain / team representative/
coach should be present.
 The teams other than from Bangalore can select their own guest players
and ensure guest players t-shirts to be of different color than the team.
Rules of the Game
 THE TEAM SHALL CONSIST OF 7 ACTIVE PLAYERS AND 5 SUBSTITUTES. AT TIME OF PLAY,
IN CASE OF SHORTAGE OF PLAYERS; THE TEAM CAN PLAY WITH A MINIMUM OF 5 PLAYERS.
 THE LEAGUE AND KNOCK OUT MATCH WILL BE PLAYED FOR BEST OF 3 SETS FOR 25
POINTS IN EACH SET WITH RALLY SCORE (T.T SCORE). WHEN THE SCORES ARE LEVEL AT
24-24/25-25, THE MATCH WILL BE PLAYED TILL IT IS A DIFFERENCE OF TWO POINTS, BUT
IF THE SCORES ARE 26-26 THEN WHICH EVER TEAM GETS THE 27TH POINT WILL BE
DECLARED AS WINNER.

THE BALL HAS TO BE CAUGHT WITH BOTH THE HANDS AND RETURNED IN ONE HAND
ONLY.
 SERVICE BALL SHOULD NOT TOUCH THE NET, DURING THE RALLY, BALL CAN TOUCH THE
NET
 DOUBLE TOUCH IS NOT ALLOWED FOR THE SERVICE BALL.
 THE BALL SHOULD BE SERVED AFTER THE WHISTLE & WITH IN 5 SCEONDS.
 SERVE THE BALL ONLY FROM THE SERVICE-ZONE & WITHOUT CROSSING THE END LINE.
 ANY BALL FALLING ON THE BOX LINE OR IN THE DEAD ZONE IS A FOUL.
 ANY BALL AFTER CATCHING (DURING RALLY) SHOULD BE RELEASED WITH IN 3 SECONDS.
 BODY TOUCH- DURING CATCHING OR RELEASING, THE BALL SHOULD NOT TOUCH ANY
PART OF THE BODY EXCEPT THE PALM.
 DUBS- WHILE CATCHING, THE BALL SHOULD BE CAUGHT SIMULTANEOUSLY WITH BOTH
THE HANDS.
 CLASH-TWO PLAYERS CANNOT CATCH THE BALL SIMULTANEOUSLY.
 ANY BALL (SERVICE/RALLY) FALLING ON THE SIDE-LINE OR THE END-LINE IS A GOOD
BALL.
 THE PLAYERS SHOULD STAY IN 2-3-2 POSITION AT THE TIME OF SERVICE.
 SHIFTING – SHIFTING THE BALL FROM RIGHT TO LEFT OR LEFT TO RIGHT IS NOT
PERMITTED.
 PUSHING THE BALL DELIBERATELY IS NOT PERMITTED.
 THE SERVICE BALL OR THE RALLY BALL SHOULD NOT TOUCH THE ANTENA.
 5 SUBSTITUTIONS ARE ALLOWED FOR EACH SET.
 TWO TIME-OUTS OF (30 SECONDS EACH) ARE PERMITTED FOR EACH SET.
 THE PLAYERS SHOULD WEAR PROPER UNIFORM WITH NUMBERS PRINTED ON BOTH
FRONT & BACK SIDES FROM 1-12 ONLY.
