Zero conditional
If / when you press this button, the light comes on.
The light comes on if / when you press this button.
If / when you heat ice, it melts.
Ice melts if you heat it.
If you buy a ticket before you travel, (then) it is cheaper.
Zero conditional - použití
Nulový kondicionál používáme k vyjádření dějů,
které nastanou v důsledku jiného děje.
Nejedná se o konkrétní událost, vždy mluvíme o
všeobecné pravdě.

Srovnej:
Zero conditional – If unemployment is rising, people
usually tend to stay in their present jobs. (pokaždé)
First conditional - If unemployment is rising next year,
people will tend to stay in their present jobs. (příští rok)

Water boils
if you heat it to 100 degrees.
IF / when překládáme jako jestli(že) / když
Pokud předchází věta hlavní, před If nesmí být
čárka
Ice melts if you heat it.
V obou větách použijeme přítomný čas!
unless
'unless' znamená v češtině „pokud ne“
Unless he asks you politely, refuse to help him.
Pokud tě zdvořile nepožádá, odmítni mu pomoci.

I don´t fall asleep unless I don´t read a few pages of
the book.
Sloveso je vždy v kladu, ale do češtiny jej překládáme v
záporu.
Neusnu, dokud si nepřečtu pár stránek z knížky.
