SUNDAY ATTENDANCE
Dear Friends,
For by him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and
invisible, …. all things were created by him and for him. (Colossians 1:16)
Summer is here and a great time for those of us that like photography! I received
a more expert camera for my birthday and its taking a bit of getting used to as I’m
no expert!! I guess I have learned a bit about what will work and what wont
when it comes to my pictures from landscapes to grandchildren its quite a learning experience! Sometimes, I just like to give a picture a try, on the off chance
that it might work, or what I see in my mind’s eye, may come out on the camera.
Recently, I have had the chance to take pictures of garden scenes and people from
the open gardens and also pics at The 150th Big birthday tea as well as lots and
lots of pictures of my grandchildren. I think the photo often works best when you
catch people unawares! That’s unlike scenery pictures which seem so much easier
to take as the natural beauty of God’s creation is so photogenic! God made it
that way!
One photo that I took recently (see Below) that falls into the more unusual category, was just a photo I snapped of a bee. When I looked close the bee was in
flight. People say our bee population is what keeps everything going and apparently they are disappearing. Bees can be scary if you don’t want to get stung or
you are allergic. It really wasn’t that pretty, but somehow amazing and it just
appealed to me, after the beauty of the trees/ flowers, the bee still seemed
beautiful to me just in a very different way. Sometimes I think we need to look
at things differently, in order to see what God wants us to see. What can appear to be uninteresting, or past it’s best, or scary even– can still hold beauty.
There is so much beauty around us, sometimes it takes my breath away. But I
also know that I see so many people who miss something, or maybe even all
of it.
In this technological age photos hundreds of photos can be stored on tiny
discs and maybe never even printed which is such a shame. Gone are the days
of photo albums but there is something so pleasurable about looking back at
old photos, old memories of times gone by and places visited, even years later. You get to remember people and places you may not see again; and remember things my body could never do now! as well as those times of
amazement at God’s creation – and the chance to relive some of it all over
again. Lets not miss out on God’s amazing creation.
Prayer: God, I’m so grateful for eyes to see beauty in the unlikely. I’m
reminded that You created all this for us to enjoy. We thank you for all
the beauty we see around us in people, scenery and animals and insects.
We praise you, Creator God. Amen

Prayers
1. During the summer months we would
pray for those unable to get out and
enjoy this time. We ask for patience
and God’s love to surround the lonely. We would continue to
pray for those who are ill
and need God’s healing
upon them.
2. We pray for VBS that
takes place this month.
We pray for all those that
will lead and have the responsibility
of teaching the children. We pray for
all the preparations. We ask that God
will use this time to bring people into
his kingdom and develop faith in
hearts and lives. We pray for protection over all the site and a smooth
running of the event. We pray that
services will be well attended and
families will come to see what happens and may these times grow fruit
for God’s kingdom.
3. We would especially think of our
own people involved in leading parts
of VBS- Ash, Rowan and Tony as
tent leaders and helpers - Carol,
Steph, Jenny, Julia, Patsy, Lee.
4. Each month we pray for one of our
groups and this month it is our
‘Jaffa’ group. After a time of transition in this we pray that God would
now help us to set out new directives
and use the material chosen. We pray
that He will send new children along
and bless those that come. We pray
for God’s continued leading and
hand upon those that come. May
each child learn more of
you and enjoy coming.
May God bless this
ministry and all the
children connected to it.
