Quadrant Restoration Design Technique (Master Mode Only)
After the doctor has made and dried the preparation, powder the area to be imaged.
1. After you have selected a patient from the database or created a new patient, select the following options in
the new dialog box:
- Restoration type
- Design Technique
- Tooth #
2. Click OK

The arrow / cursor automatically jumps to the Acquire preparation icon.

3. Acquire the images of the prep teeth involved and of the neighboring
teeth on either side of the prepared teeth.

4. Creating the first restoration – the tooth chosen when opening
the patient file is the tooth you will design first.
Choosing Quadrant
Create the restoration through to the Milling Preview. Before the milling takes place choose
Design/Quadrant.
5. After choosing Design/Quadrant a new dialog box will open for you to select the following for the second
design.

Click OK - This is followed by the virtual seating and start of a second CEREC 3D program. **NOTE Following virtual seating you may NO LONGER perform the following:
- return to the Optical Impression work step with the Undo icon,
- remove or add images,
- change the reference image!

When the virtual seating is finished the program will return to the Milling Preview running in the foreground
showing the display of the first design.

6. Mill the restoration.
The CEREC program with the virtual seat of the first design is minimized at the bottom of the screen. Since we
cannot minimize a milling screen we can move the cursor to the bottom of our screen and maximize the
second design over the top of the milling screen and start our design of the second quadrant tooth. (alt+tab will also bring it forward)

7. Center the preparation in the center of the screen by clicking on the center of the prep and clicking the fix
button.

Draw the Margin and redefine the Insertion Axis for the Second Quadrant tooth~
8. Trim the model, draw the preparation margin.
9. Define the Insertion Axis for the tooth we are now designing. Click fix and then click next to move forward.

10. Create the restoration, move forward to the Milling Preview.
First mill is finished, save and close. Mill the second quadrant and seat the first milled tooth.
