In Reading, your child will learn to:
 Describe in depth a character, setting, or event in a story or drama
 Refer to details and examples in a text when explaining what the text says

In Social Studies, your child will learn to:
 Explain the Declaration of Independence
 Describe specialization
 Explain voluntary exchange
 Describe opportunity costs
 Describe how trade promotes economic activity
 Discuss events that shaped the revolutionary movement
In Science, your child will learn to:
 Identify roles of consumers, producers, and decomposers
 Illustrate food chains and food webs
 Identify ways adaptation can help organisms survive
 Predict how changes in an environment will effect a community
 Identify solid, liquid, gas as states of water
 Recognize the temperature at which water changes state
 Investigate how things move, change direction or speed
