P.O. Box 509 Renton, WA 98057 Renton Rotary – YOUTH OF THE MONTH The Rotary Club of Renton has established a Youth of the Month program to honor outstanding students from the three comprehensive high schools in the Renton School District. It is our belief that this program is beneficial to our Rotary club, school district, and community as well as the selected students. It is beneficial to our Rotary club because it allows our members to have meaningful interactions with outstanding students from our high schools. Our school district and community benefit from this program because it recognizes and positively reinforces the achievement of our most outstanding students. Finally, the students that are selected as a Renton Rotary Youth of the Month benefit from the recognition of their accomplishments and the opportunity to meet and interact with the community and business leaders who are members of our Rotary club. Applicants for selection as the Renton Rotary Youth of the Month must complete this application and return it to their school’s Career Center Specialist by the first of the month to be eligible for selection as the Youth of the Month for the following month. Only typed applications will be considered. Two applicants from each high school are selected each month to be interviewed by the Youth of the Month Committee. The interview is held at 12:00 noon at Renton High School. Through the interview process, the Committee makes the final selection of the Renton Rotary Youth of the Month. Students selected as Youth of the Month are expected to attend the weekly luncheon meetings of the Renton Rotary Club during the month. The student’s parents are strongly encouraged to attend the first weekly luncheon during the month when the student and his/her parents/supporters are first introduced to the club and receive their recognition. The club meets every Thursday from 12:00 noon to 1:30 p.m. at Maplewood Golf Course. While there is no charge for the honored students, parents/supporters will be requested to pay their own luncheon fee of $10. We encourage all students to apply for this distinguished honor. We look forward to meeting you and giving consideration to your application to be recognized as the Renton Rotary Youth of the Month. (Please remove this page before submitting application.)
