John of Rolleston prides itself in developing the ‘whole child’; we therefore have the services
of

Entrust’s Music and Performing Arts Service to provide music tuition.

What instruments are taught?

Currently we have tutors for brass (trumpet/trombone), piano/keyboard, strings (cello/violin)
woodwind (clarinet/flute) instruments. (Please note, that lessons for drums and electric guitars are

booked through Armshaw School of Rock).

How much are the music lessons?

We have to buy in the tutors’ services, so the current termly fee per pupil is £70, therefore the
cost is £210 for the academic year, with at least 34 lessons being taught. You will be able0to pay
the total fee or by instalments if you wish via ParentPay. If your child is in receipt of free0school
meals due to your family receiving benefits, you can write to the governors to request help with the

When do I need to make payment?

Trial lessons will take place at the beginning of September for anyone who wishes to ‘have
with the instruments. If your child wishes to take up the lessons, then the first term’s payment of

£70 will have to be paid as soon as possible in order to secure their place with the tutor. Lessons
will not continue if payment has not been made. The full academic year’s charge of £2100will be

uploaded onto ParentPay. Subsequent termly fees should be paid prior to the start of each

term as per the information on ParentPay.

Do I need to buy an instrument?

Your child can use their own instrument, if they have one, or one can be hired via Entrust. The
full
academic yearly costs (as at February 2014) are £33 for strings and £57 for brass/woodwind

instruments. Payment is dealt with directly by Entrust and yourself, not with the school.
