Main Purpose of the Role
Explain briefly what the job is there to achieve?

The role of Sales Executive is to gain new sales and develop new clients in line with the Annual
Commercial Business Plan and sales targets.

To ensure that Red One / Academy commercial courses are filled to capacity.

To further penetrate the existing client base and to successfully introduce Red One to new market
sectors and new customers.

To promote Red One, its products and its services across its vertical markets and client base.

To document and report sales progress as required.
Main Responsibilities and Duties of Role

To develop and build the customer base of Red One, selling (predominantly through telesales) to
prospects and engaging with existing clients to ensure the profitable delivery of services and
products.

To meet and exceed the annual sales target.

To provide sales quotations and estimates to clients as necessary.

To issue Statements of Account and to ensure payment is obtained in line with Red One’s terms and
conditions of sale.

To liaise with the DSFRS Academy Central Administration Team to ensure that the highest levels of
customer service is provided to Red One customers.

To respond to customer queries and to resolve customer issues quickly and effectively.

To ensure that all sales transactions are completed efficiently, accurately and in a timely manner.

To engage with prospective and existing customers via telephone, email and where appropriate other
media, to build sales and develop the business relationship with Red One.

To maintain the customer database / CRM system (Quickbooks) and to coordinate sales ‘pipeline’
opportunities to successful completion and to utilise the Quickbooks and Webgility ECC software
systems and the Red One website to interact online with clients and to ensure the efficient
administration of customer transactions.

To report sales progress against target and previous periods on a daily/weekly/monthly basis.

To work with the Academy School Managers and the Director – Business Development & Marketing
to prepare sales forecasts and the annual sales budget.

To provide sales support at exhibitions, trade shows and other customer facing events.

Essential qualifications / training / skills / knowledge / experience (how and why will they be used?)








Proven record of sales training in a dynamic, customer oriented environment
Used to working to defined sales targets
Ability to sell technically oriented services and products
Familiar with customer relationship management systems and sales lead ‘pipeline’ management
Culturally aware
Comfortable using the Microsoft Office suite of products
Educated to Minimum GCSE A level
Good standard of written / spoken English and Mathematics skills
Flexible qualifications / training / skills / knowledge / experience?


Educated to degree level in a business or marketing related discipline (or equivalent experience)
Knowledge of other languages would be beneficial, but not essential – for communications with key
clients and target markets.

What is the background of the ideal candidate?




A background in training sales (any industry) would be ideal.
Alternatively, previous experience of recruitment sales or similar in a ‘people oriented’ environment
would be advantageous.
Sales of technical / industrial services / HSE would be beneficial but not essential.
Knowledge of the fire, rescue and safety market would be beneficial but not essential.
What exactly do we want to see on CVs?
Preferably training sales or recruitment sales, in a sales executive / sales administrator role.
Proven track record of building business, client relationship management and sales success.
The successful candidate will thrive working within a small, customer focussed team and working towards
defined sales goals.
