OVERVIEW
Fly around the Galaxy in a spaceship collecting taonga and answering questions about Aotearoa correctly.
INSTRUCTIONS
This game can be created and played by 4-8 people. Players select a spaceship (maximum of 2 players in
each) and travel the galaxy collecting taonga by correctly answering questions. Spaceships must land on a
planet to be able to answer questions. Incorrect answers bounce the spaceships into outer space where they
must miss a turn until they can re enter the galaxy. Players win when their spaceships collect 8 taonga by
answering 8 correct questions and they land on Planet Earth. The group agrees whether the answers are
correct or incorrect. The group wins when all the spaceships have returned.
Preparation
One person will act as the Galaxy Master to read the question starters and form the questions to be asked.
This person should be knowledgeable!

Spaceships (empty containers)
1 game board
16 taonga (little stones, rolled up paper or counters)
1 dice

Instructions
1. All players begin on Planet Earth. Roll the dice to start your galactic journey.
2. Each star is counted as one move.
3. You will need to reach each planet in any order you wish.
4. You must roll the correct number required to land on the planets.
5. You can only answer a question when you are on a planet.
6. If you answer a question correctly, you can collect one taonga.
7. If you answer incorrectly, you must bounce into outer space and miss a turn.
8. When you correctly answer 8 questions and collect 8 taonga you must head for home. You will
need to roll the correct number to land on Planet Earth.
9. Questions can be repeatedly asked even if a previous player has already correctly answered them.
10. Your aim is to get all spaceships home in the quickest possible time.
