Spelling Magic- Write words on white
construction paper with white crayon, then paint
over the paper with watered down tempera paint
or watercolors. Words appear like magic!
Dirty Words- Write your words in mud or sand.
(ask a parent first!)
Create an activity- Can you think of a fun way
to do your spelling activities? Try it out!
Riddle Me- Write a riddle for each word.
Story, Story- Write a story using ALL of your
spelling words
Colorful Words- Use two different color pens to
write your spelling words. Use one color to write
the consonants and the other for the vowels.
Pyramids- Write words as if they are stairs,
adding one letter each time.
Type ‘Em Up - Type them up with a fun font and
fun colors (you can even email them to me if you
want to).
Spelling City- go to www.SpellingCity.com and
play some fun games with your spelling list.
Hidden Words- Draw a picture and ‘hide’ your
words in the picture
Fancy Letters- Use old magazines, catalogs, or
newspapers to cut out letters and glue them
down to spell your words!
Other Handed- If you are right-handed, write
with your left, or vice versa.
Flashwriting- In a darkened room, use a
flashlight to draw letters in the air.
Practice Test- Take a practice test (this is
especially good on Thursday night before the
REAL test!)
Picture Words- Draw a picture of 5 spelling
words and write the word underneath
Water Wash- (Warm day required!) Use a
paintbrush and water to write your words on the
sidewalk
