MECHANICS
1. The problems for the competition are applications of Combinational Logic that
can be implemented using Small Scale Integration or SSI IC packages and
the problem requirement must not exceed to 5-input variable.
2. Each region (through the Regional Chapter President) must submit 20
questions with answers (through email) to the VP for Education one month
prior to the scheduled date of the competition to do necessary preparations.
(Deadline of submissions of questions with answers will be on or before

3. Power Supply (for testing) will be provided by Host Institution. Each
entry/team is required to bring the following materials to be used in the
competition:
1 pc. Breadboard
Connecting wires
5 pcs. 74LS08
5 pcs. 74LS04
5 pcs. 74LS32
5 pcs. 74LS00
5 pcs. 74LS02
10 pcs. LED
1 pc 8-bit DIP switch
4. The competition has three (3) rounds to finish.
a. In the 1st round, the teams are given thirty (30) minutes to solve
the problem, then immediately, answer/s will be checked by the
panel of judges. The teams who get the right answer will qualify for
the 2nd round. In case that there is only one team who will get the
correct answer from the first round, then the team will
automatically garner first place. To determine the 2nd and 3rd
places, the remaining teams will restart with a new problem to
solve for 15 minutes. The first team to submit the correct answer
to the board of judges automatically gets the rank. Each team is
only given one chance to submit their answer(s) in case the whole
time duration is not yet consumed.
b. In the 2nd round, the teams are given forty five (45) minutes to
implement the answer obtained from the first round. After which,
each team is required to show the output to the panel of judges.
c. Lastly, a final round will be given to the teams who will perfectly
accomplish the implementation in the 2nd round. In the final
round, the panel of judges will remove one wire from the
implementation and the teams are given a maximum of 10 minutes
to troubleshoot the circuit.
5. Teams will be ranked based from the time consumed in accomplishing the
task in the final round. In case of a tie, another task will be given by the
panel of judges to break the tie.
6. The judges’ decision is final and irrevocable.
