Michael Lawrence of Richmond Hill wins 2017 Buick Verano
in Select Sweepstakes
RICHMOND HILL, ON, January 30, 2017 — When Michael Lawrence of Amaya Software got a
call from the Human Resources department asking him to meet with them at 10:30 the following
morning, his first thoughts were about his job. “I just met with my boss and he’s on vacation, so I
can’t be getting fired because I’m doing all this work,” he thought. That night he had a dream
that he and his colleagues had won the lottery.
At the meeting the next day, they broke the news to him that he’d won a new car in the Select
Sweepstakes. “I was in a state of disbelief,” said Lawrence, a senior quality assurance software
tester. “Word spread like wildfire through the company. I don’t think the news fully registered
with me till later that afternoon. When I told my wife, she too was in disbelief. We’re thrilled
because we are expecting our second daughter in March and this new, safe reliable car comes
at the perfect time for us.”
Today, Lawrence was presented the keys to a handsome luxury compact 2017 Buick Verano as
a vehicle winner in the Select Sweepstakes. Lawrence, who has been with Amaya for more than
three years, was entered into the sweepstakes by his group insurance broker, Cassidy and
Young Insurance of Richmond Hill. The presentation took place today at 2:30 p.m. at Roy Foss
Thornhill.
“The car is beautiful,” Lawrence said. “It’s fully loaded with a leather interior, back up camera,
blind-spot indicators, just the perfect car for carrying precious cargo like our little girls.”
As an employee of Amaya Software, Lawrence was eligible for exclusive group insurance on
car and home insurance, in addition to being entered into the Select Sweepstakes.
