1 PROMOTING YOUR EFFORT
A great idea or effort deserves to reach a wide audience. Practical tips to boost
outreach:
•
Craft your pitch and specific talking points including who, what, when,
why of your project or team; the name of the benefiting organization; and
all-important contact info. Include visuals; use your own words, style and
edge; practice your pitch until it is simple, clear and energized.
•
Register your Positive Tracks Effort through your athletic event website as
soon as possible to take advantage of cross-promotional opportunities like
event messaging and website visibility.
•
Work closely with Positive Tracks Coordinators to determine other potential
promotional and sponsorship opportunities.
•
Follow style guides and use logos of involved partnering organizations
including Positive Tracks. It’s crucial to submit independent marketing
materials for approval before use.
•
Use social media channels like Twitter @postracks, Instagram #postracks,
Facebook https://www.facebook.com/PositiveTracksOrg and Pinterest, direct
email, electronic newsletters, school/church messaging channels, and
community media channels to promote your effort to friends, family, and
your community. Encourage others to share information and
connections. Show enthusiasm and tell your story whenever possible.
Word of mouth is a powerful glow-mentum building tool!
•
Hang posters in local recreational facilities and other high-traffic locations
– community centers, coffee shops, grocery store bulletin boards, school
bulletin boards, etc.
•
Let Positive Tracks know what you’re doing so we can provide you with
materials and support, plus spotlight you through Positive Tracks social
media channels and website.
