CV Theuvsen

Ludwig Theuvsen, born 1963, is a full professor of Management in Agribusiness at the
Department of Agricultural Economics and Rural Development at University of Goettingen,
Germany. His research interests include various aspects of agribusiness management,
including quality management, certification systems, food labelling, strategic management,
human resource management and organization of food supply chains. In various research
projects he has empirically analysed agribusiness subsectors such as the dairy sector and the
meat industry.
Professor Theuvsen is currently member of the Editorial Board of German Journal of
Agricultural Economics, the Editorial Advisory Board of Polish Journal of Food and Nutrition
Sciences and the International Advisory and Editorial Board of Journal on Chain and Network
Science.
The Georg-August University of Goettingen, Germany, is one of Germany’s leading higher
education institutions with about 26,000 students. The Faculty of Agricultural Sciences at
University of Goettingen is among the leading research institutions in Germany and beyond.
About 2,500 students are currently enrolled as Bachelor, Master and Ph.D. students in

Professor Theuvsen’s research interests include economic research on agriculture and the food
industry. Research areas include quality management, strategic management, human resource
management and organization of food supply chains. He has done extensive research on the
meat and livestock industry, the dairy sector, and the bioenergy sector. His research has been
funded by a wide spectrum of third-party funding institutions including, but not restricted to,
the National Science Foundation (DFG), federal ministries, regional ministries, foundations
and agribusiness companies.
