Treasurer’s Report
Filed taxes
Insurance option: there are two options. Discussion regarding Silver package.
The extra money would cover the inventory like clothing.
Will table the questions about deductible.
Treasure’s Report created on Money minder
The PE clotting sales will include Summer Bridge. Need about $13,000 more.
Music money is a separate account. All music money goes to the music
department. Ex. clothes, field trips, food,B bev. Raffle.
There is an additional 5,000 that is earmarked for the music department.
Principal Stephen Brady says that he appreciates the effort to help the school. He
is okay with cutting the Principal’s budget; he is happy to support the music and
art programs.
Family center did get a check from the PTO.
Yearbook questions are still out. Waiting for teacher responses.
Dine Outs: follow up next month
STAM Fair Update: so far only 11 students are signed up. There are 5 teachers
involved to help students with their projects. Maybe there are some Ideas to
entice the students to participate June 1st during open house.
April 6 meeting. Need 6th grade parent volunteers to help with set up.
Spring Direct Drive Fundraiser. Cathy Amenti says she will be getting the video
from the students. She will put the video online for parents to see. Debbie
Jansen will put the link on the Kennedy PTO website.
2016-2017 Budget
We have revised budget.
Money added to principal’s fund. Now he has a 2,500 budget. The music budget
now has categories.
Parent’s Night Out: At the Tequila Lounge. There will be music, dancing and
dance lessons at the Tequila Lounge. The tickets will be $20 a person. Will put on
the Kennedy Store for parents, but they can pay at the door.
May Teacher Appreciation: Jocelyn Kelemen waiting for a response from a
parent regarding a catered luncheon for the teachers. She can do Tues and
Thursday. There is about $1,500 for teacher appreciation.
Barista $375 for 3hrs.
Breakfast
Open Kennedy PTO positions:
President
Vice President
Co Treasurer,
Secretary
Auditor
Action co chairs
Scholastic Book Fair chair
Auction Committee: need people to start talking about Kennedy Auction for next
year. Need volunteers and support
Mr. Brady input: Discussed dropping enrollment in the district.
The school district is losing about 10% of funding.
Discussion: Kennedy would like to keep both counselors.
Perhaps the PTO could help offset the cost or even offset the cost of a custodian.
Another possibility would be helping Kennedy’s support for staff, STEM , Art,
music, Drama
AT&T Park: Volunteering at AT&T Park has the possibility of earning a lot of
money for the PTO. Need volunteers to be trained as “managers” and the
minimum of 6 people per game to run the concession stand. More volunteers
would allow for more events to attend. Kennedy volunteers could attend more
than just Giants games. There are also music concerts.
PTO Banners: Banners are in bad shape. Let’s think some solutions.
Public Input
8th grade info night
Next meeting: April 20th
Meeting adjourned 8:44pm
