working together in Shared Education

 Shared Lessons are up and running again this term,
funded through the Shared Education Signature Project
(SESP) with Mrs Lavery and Mrs Anderson for Years 1 to
7. This term we are focussing on Numicon and problem
solving
 Our rehearsals have begun with our Afterschool Joint
Choir in Duneane with Mrs Anderson on Tuesday
afternoons. We will be performing at the Ballymena
Festival on Monday 27th February
 We hope that you enjoyed the first issue of our Shared
Education Newsletter. The children enjoyed contributing
their thoughts on the partnership and we plan to issue
this newsletter on a regular basis
 We are holding our joint Family Fun Quiz organised by
Duneane PTA and Friends of Moneynick on Friday 10
February. This will be lots of fun and will help us to raise
much needed funds for our shared Numicon resources
 We had a fantastic joint day out together at the
Pantomime, Snow White and the Seven Dwarves in the
Courtyard Theatre in December. The children also met
Santa and enjoyed their selection boxes afterwards
A new Principal has been appointed in Duneane Primary
School. Mrs Kerrie Wilson will take up post at the start of
April and we look forward to working with Mrs Wilson and
know that our Partnership will go from strength to strength

“The Moneynick/Duneane Shared Education Campus received
approval to proceed in planning in March 2016 and has
established a Project Board and will develop a Business Case.
The Project Board has membership from Duneane P.S. and
Moneynick P.S., Department of Education, Education
Authority and Council for Catholic Maintained Schools
respectively.
The next stage of the process will be the
identification of a site and the production of a Business Case.
The Project Board will meet on a bi-monthly basis and further
updates will be provided as the Business Case progresses”.
The above statement has been released by the Project Board.
The Project Board continues to meet on a regular basis and
will issue a Communique after every meeting. This will be
placed on our school websites.
