2011 - 2012 Team-Player-Game Information It is Molalla Soccer’s goal to offer our youth the opportunity to participate in the game of soccer. The Molalla Soccer program goals and objectives will focus on skill development, maximizing each player’s unique abilities in a positive sporting environment. Molalla Soccer has developed a program that each player will receive instruction that is developmental in nature including both individual skill (fundamentals) and team play. Emphasis will be placed on making the experience fun and enjoyable. Referees: o Responsible for contacting the MYS Referee Scheduler with 24 hours notice when cancelling a referee job. Please understand, if you do not phone and are a no show or are late, you will not be scheduled future games. o Arrive 15-20 minutes prior to game start for pre-game checks and rules review. Coaches: o Responsible for notifying the MYS office and Referee Scheduler with 24 hours notice when cancelling a home game. o Notifying the MYS office and Referee Scheduler of any no-show and/or late officials. Referees and Coaches: o Responsible for reviewing and understanding the age specific rules and discussing with each other before the game begins. Molalla Youth Sports is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that functions like a tax funded Parks and Recreation District, yet we rely on registration fees, sponsorships and donations to provide 6 sports programs, operating year-round for youth Kindergarten through 8th grades. MYS and WYSA Specifications: Kinder-Kick Game Time: Playing Time: Players on Field: Official: Maximum Roster: 2 = 16 minute halves, with 10 minute halftime. • No timeouts or stoppage time. All eligible players are to play a minimum of one-half of each game barring injury, illness or disciplinary action. Final decision at coach’s discretion. 3 vs 3, No Goalkeeper. Coaches officiate. 6 players. Player Eligibility: o As per the MYS Athlete Participation and Team Assignment Eligibility SOP, an eligible athlete is defined as: A registrant clear of the following: • Outstanding fees; • Non-Returned uniforms and/or fees; • MYS disciplinary action. A registrant complying with the following: • Submitted an on-time and completed MYS registration form with appropriate fee. • Submitted a late and completed MYS registration form with appropriate fee, with the understanding that MYS will assign after on-time eligible registrants and according to coach / team availability. • Meets the MYS Grade / Age requirement; • Meets State / County / League requirements; • Meets the MYS Player Assessments / Try-Outs SOP, as required. NO Goalkeeper. Corner – Goal – Penalty Kicks: o NO Corner – Goal – Penalty Kicks Allowed All fouls are throw-ins from the side/touch line. 2 Extra Chances on Throw-Ins: o Both feet must remain on the ground and the ball must be thrown with both hands from behind and over the head. NO Offside Called. NO Slide-Tackling Allowed. FAIR PLAY: o All coaches shall honor the spirit of the recreational game and any team leading by five (5) goals must make adjustments to attempt to even the play. Suggestions to achieve this goal: • Rotate players to unfamiliar positions. • Put “conditions” that must be met before a shot, such as: o Require multiple passes. o Shoot left footed only. (Right for left footed players). o Crosses for headers. • Adding a player to the field for the non-leading team is a good option. • Removing a player from the field from the leading team is not an option! Use your good judgment to make sure the game is fun for all players on both teams. Substitutions: o Allowed during a dead ball and permission of the coach. Uniform: o Shirt, shorts, shin guards, socks and cleats; All players must wear their designated team color.
