1st Meeting – 5/9/2017
1. Expectations
a. Behavior in school – You are representing the Latrobe C.C., your parents, me, and most importantly the
good name of Latrobe Golf.
b. Grades – You are a student first, golfer second.
c. Behavior at golf course – We are guests of the Latrobe C.C.
d. Summer score cards – You must turn in at least 10 between now and 8/3/2016 (If you were not on the
team last year or on the JV team. This is going to be done using a Google Spread Sheet. The link is on
the golf team web page and is also below. Go to this site and follow the click on the Directions tab.

e. Summer tournaments – Play in as many of these as you can. Notify me personally when you are
scheduled to play in a tournament. Turn in any score cards from stroke play tournaments that you
participate in. On the calendar that you have been given there are some suggested tournaments and dates
that are good opportunities.
f. Summer golf outings. – I am planning at least two times this year where we meet at a course to simply
play. They will be 6/13/2017 at Latrobe Elks starting at 10:00 am, and 7/19/2017 at Glengary starting at
12:00 pm.
g. The golf season is a short season (season is over by end of Sept/early Oct) and requires a commitment
until the season is over.
2. Try-outs –
a. These will be two days: Monday 8/14/2017 (2:00 pm) and Tuesday 8/15/2016 (2:00 P.M.)
b. You will play 18 holes of golf on those days.
c. Try-outs are by invitation only. I will be in contact with everyone who is being invited to try-out for the
team. It is not an open try-out.
i. Anyone who lettered in a previous season will automatically make the team (but must still attend
tryouts)
ii. Any senior trying out that has not previously lettered must be in the top 8 to make the team.
iii. There will be a JV team this season (more info on this in the future)
3. Tournaments – See Calendar – Strongly encourage all to sign-up for the Tom Maylee Tournament that is held at
the Latrobe Elks on June 13th. It is free, and the winners will get to go on to Seven Springs. If possible, you
should play in this!!! Call the Elks the week prior to register.
4. Team Calendar: Use the following website for the team calendar. You can access this from a computer or
a smart phone. (There is a link to this on my golf team page – see below)

5. Remind 101 – This will be used for announcements and reminders throughout the summer and
golf season. You should sign-up for this as soon as possible. Go to the golf team page (see below)
on the school website and look for the link on the left hand side.
