Assistant Coach – Full Time MICHIGAN, HOLLAND Michigan Lakeshore Aquatics Holland Community Aquatic Center Michigan Lakeshore Aquatics, a USA Swimming Silver Medal team, is seeking an Assistant Coach to live and work in one of the top Midwest cities to live and a world class facility in which to work. Holland Community Aquatic Center has an eight lane 50 meter pool, six lane 25 yard pool, water slide and play area, a warm-water therapy pool and spectator seating for over 600. HCAC is home to both Girls and Boys HS State meets and Michigan Swimming State meets. Primary Responsibilities: Perform as assistant coach for USA Age Group swim teams and other competitive programs, general oversight and coordination of practices, and meets. Depending upon qualifications, would include coaching competitive age group swimmers, masters, and/or learn to swim programs. Specific Responsibilities: 1. Act as Assistant Coach, as needed, for Aquatic Center sponsored teams. 2. Act as an Instructor for Instructional program as scheduled. 3. Coordinate practices, and provide instruction for assigned age group/team. 4. Coordinate and assist the running of all competitive events. 5. Assist in organizing and running all competitive camps and clinics. 6. Responsible for website administration, as needed. 7. Other duties as assigned. Essential Qualifications: 1. Experience in the aquatic field beneficial. 2. Current Lifeguard and CPR certification. 3. Demonstrated ability to work well and communicate effectively with student athletes, staff, public, and other administrators. 4. Ability to project a positive and professional outlook, manner, and appearance. 5. Ability to demonstrate mature judgment, reliability, availability, and ethical behavior including punctuality, confidentiality and the ability to function effectively in a multitask environment. 6. Demonstrated ability to give direction and provide leadership and evaluate the performance of others. 7. Efficient computer skills, including but not limited to Meet Manager and website administration programs. 8. Current coach membership in good standing with USA Swimming. Preferred Qualifications: 1. CPO or AFO certification. 2. Current instructor certification for Lifeguarding and CPR. 3. Three or more years of experience teaching swimming or coaching, with demonstrated effectiveness in helping athletes achieve superior performance and improvement. 4. Advanced Training and/or Certifications in specialty field. 5. ASCA Level 2 or higher. RATE OF PAY: This is a full time position with compensation of $26,000+ (depending upon experience and qualifications) w/Full benefits, medical, dental, vision, life and retirement.
