activities and crafts.
The TD Summer Reading Club is
Canada’s biggest reading program
for kids of all ages, interests and
abilities and is delivered by over
2,000 libraries across Canada.
The TD Summer Reading Club has
been successful in inspiring
children to spend more time
reading books and visiting their
local libraries. It celebrates
Canadian authors, illustrators and
stories.
The TD Summer Reading Club is
designed to inspire and encourage
kids to explore the fun of reading
and to create life-long learners
while increasing reading skills.

will silkscreen and paint it with artist,
Skye Morrison.

WEST! We welcome Lily from
Peterborough County Environmental
Services with fun games to teach us
about recycling! Bring an old t-shirt to
recycle into a tote bag.

Get comfy as we listen to professional
storyteller Betty Bennett.

TURTLES! We will read West Coast
Wild, by Deborah Hodge and make
turtle crafts which will prepare us for
a visit from the Turtle Trauma
Centre during the Friday session in
Norwood. Special Time – 11 am

reading “The Darkest Dark” by our
favourite astronaut – Chris Hadfield
and making pop bottle fire flies!

Bring along your hula hoop and learn
all kinds of hula hooping techniques
from our instructor, Basia!

Finale! Come sing, dance and
eat some ice cream as we
welcome special guests from
“Team T&J Entertainers!”
Join us for learning, fun and
adventures at the Norwood or
Westwood Libraries during July
and August. We request that
children are registered before the
program begins, however walkins are welcome. Parents and
guardians are asked to stay at the
library while the program is
happening, but feel free to browse
the books, use the computers, or
join your children during the
activities. Please advise us if your
child has any food allergies as we
will be serving snacks.
